Besides collect them?. Well, when people wants every single figure realeased in U.S. or Japan, or both, when hunt a figure for years, when you know the differences between a Jap and US version, when you know a figure its going to be released six months before anybody, when you know the entire history and leyends and miths of every Transformer or Transformers Universe, when you know how many times a figure its been repainted and renamed and remolded, when you are waiting desesperated for the new Rescue Hero...sorry Transformers Animated show. Must I go on?

I think the nerdiest thing would be knowing the complete history of Transformers back so far that to know they came from Japanese lines of Diaclone and MicroMan before being brought to the rest of the world as Transformers, and the history from there, and were still a Transfan throughout the 90s through G2 and before Beast Wars.
Um.. I guess that makes me a nerd? Oh well.

if knowing so much about tfs mean you're a nerd than the jocks who call us nerds are nerds themselves for knowing so much about sports. in fact everyone who calls me a nerd is a nerd cuz they know a lot about sports.but not every nerd caller is a nerd.

Except that the jocks go to parties, get laid, can handle themselves in social situations, etc., while the typical nerd can't.
But yeah, in my opinion the nerdiest thing about collecting transformers is that we're feeling a wave of joy/disgust/greed just from looking at a childrens' toy.

I don't consider anything about collecting Transformers "nerdy",
but others might.
It's all about perspective.

Either the hoarding of MIB childrens toys, doomed never to be opened or played with, or correcting someone's passing Transformers reference with a 10 minute spiel.

The nerdiest thing about collecting transformers is probably thinking that anything about transformers is nerdy. It's a hobby and right now it's pretty mainstream with the movie. Nothing truly nerdy about it to me.

What it the crime about being a nerd??? You're only a "nerd" if you believe it when people call you that! Personally, I couldn't give a rat's narrow behind what others say about me....I do what I do and I like it....If someone doesn't..well.....I tell em not the let the door hit em where the good lord split em!

What's the nerdiest thing about Transformers?
The fact that once a week, every week, for the past nine months, I have gone into the local KB Toys store and seen the cute redheaded cashier girl with the breathtaking smile and not even made a purchase just to have an excuse at starting conversation. Not to mention that if once a week, every week, for the past nine months I have failed to find anything in the store worthy of a purchase, I continue to go back despite knowing that there will never be anything worthy of a purchase.
I mean, honestly. What hell am I afraid of? She'll think I'm a nerd for collecting Transformers? She works in a toy store, for crying out loud!

That is not nerdy, that is just an obsession and a cool one at that.
Nerdy would be taking them out to dinner with you.

The fact that i'm 32 going on 10 and i'm lovin every second of it! I love the fact that someone might call me a geek or nerd. Heck i call myself one. It's just like anything else in this world someone might collect or have for a hobby no different. My girl collects shoes, purses, clothes and tattoos. She works at a shop as a body piercer and has tattoos covering much of her body. She's beautiful and smart and thinks my collecting TFs is cool. Funny thing is i played football for 11yrs, baseball for 6, wrestled for 3, hockey for 3 and track for 1. I also worked in a comic shop my senior yr. and a little after highschool it was the funnest job i ever had i still miss it. I was a jock who collected comics and toys and still does. You can be a jock and a geek at the same time and still get the hot girl! Transformers for life!

Collecting plastic robots is nerdy.
Nice to get that out of the way. Yeah, the entire thing is nerdy. So is my collection of Deep Space Nine, my collection of superhero movies, the fact that I used to actually dream I was Spiderman. Oh yeah, and my slight affection for Star Wars. But having confidence/being happy and being nerdy is not mutually exclusive. All that matters is you are being yourself.
A lot of women would find TFs incredibly nerdy. They probably are also insecure with themselves (this actually goes for men, too) and would be jealous for attention if you devoted an unhealthy amount of time to your plastic robots instead. Just don't devote your entire existence (unless, hey, that's your thing...) to it.

Thank you, please drive through.

My comment relates to more than 1 in a group. Any arguement carried out between 2 or more people over who is a better character or not. Any arguement over why fembots should or should not exist. I witnessed an arguement at the 2003 OTFCC that seemed really nerdy but I can't remember what it was about.
I may be nerdy and I don't care! I knew a huge guy that worked at a comic shop that had Rodimus tatooed on his bicep and I saw a guy at the convention that was built like a football player wearing a jersey with an autobot symbol on it, 2 guys I wouldn't want to call nerdy!
By the way, I work in a factory and I check out seibertron (transtopia before the merger) and tformers while on break, They all figure I'm nerdy.
