Collecter's Club??

I wanted to know the benefits if any for joining the Collecter's Club. $62 for a newsletter seems a little ridiculous. Ok so I get a "free toy". But I would think my $62 paid for the "free toy". Iknow they have special repaints and I guess that is a plus. But are they expensive of are they given to you at a low price? So any club member out there help me with this. Thanks :-?

I joined the club to get the exclusives myself.
I paid the 40 dollar fee though as I really didn't care that the magazine came at the middle of the month.

It seemed a steep price to pay but as I was bidding on the Astrotrain on ebay and noticed it going for more than the cost of the exclusive and the membership together I decided to join.

The web site for members doesn't seem that great though and it seems Seibertron actually has more to offer. Heck I'd even pay for a Seibertron exclusive figure if it was offered.

Really the magazine is alright, but I joined so I could get the club exclusive toys, and the yearly toy. Also I have the 40$ membership, so really since I go to botcon each year, it pays for itself and a little more. My cousin joined this year, and saved 10$ when all was said and done on his registration. So for third class, it really is beneficial for me to have my membership.... also I like to join clubs, so i can exclude people?

There aren't many listed on e-bay at all--just a couple of Skyfall's right now--unless you're talking about the new Astrotrain/Airrazor--they'll be pretty steep I imagine. The asking price for Skyfall anyway runs over $30 with shipping... For the extra $5 or so, you can get the Master Collector magazine (with a chance to win a free figure for placing an ad) and the pretty cool Collector's Club newsletter with bios and a decent comic. Plus, don't forget discounts on other exclusives and Botcon packages!

Why do I sound like I work for them? I just find that $40 a year isn't much in the long run.

You can get a sub to Playboy for about a third of that and get pics of naked women though.

And you can get a million times more naked women for free on the internet!

-edit-

Just to add to the club. You also get access to the forums where you can interact with pompous arrogant twits who think the sun shines out of MasterCollector and Hasbro's butts!

This thread while entertaining is taking a turn towards the 'let's no go there' end.

Anyone mind posting back on topic about the collector's club? :???:

I was thinking the same thing.

I find my club membership to be quite worth it.

The exclusives are nice, the magaizine is good, and the forum/chat room is a nice way to talk with people you may be seeing later at a 'con, or to try to voice your ideas directly to the club.

You have to remember though, I was a member of OTFCC and we got exactly jackshit of what they promised, and of course jack left town.

So this is a step up by about 1000%.

But I was impressed enough with Mastercollector's TF club to also join their GI Joe club. Yo Joe!

Nice thanks for the info. But 1 thing I really want know is how much do the exclusive figures cost. I see them on ebay and I know they jack the price up. I would get into the club for the fig's and the magazine you say is good. I dont know if I will travel to bot con. So it is just to get my hands on new fig's.

Well, so far there have not been many exclusive figures besides the con exclusives, and usually they do not have many, if any of those to sell on the website. Certainly, the con exclusive two packs of late do not show up...

This year:

Air Razor Exclusive $42 (E-Slugslinger mold new head)
Astrotrain Exclusive $87, I think (A-Jetfire mold, new head)

To buy more of the club exclusive membership figures, usually costs $25.

There are some Botcon boxed sets on the site, they sell for the same price that they did at the con.

This is all based on my US experiences. The prices are VERY high if you are not a member though, and as you said, are always inflated on ebay.

Wow for some reason I did think they would cost that much! I know they are limited, but $87 for Jetfire repaint when I have the original fig. I dony even think I paid $25 for him. Well thanks again. You have been the most helpful. :D
