This topic is to be used only for the discussion of K-9 Transformers.

I intend to keep this topic active even if not being used...

So it might be best if you use it...

Oh and Transformers with K-9 sounding names like "Hound" are perfectly acceptible...

NO CATS ALLOWED!

Dedication: Keto Hansen, Died Friday January 4, 2008 between the hours of 4 and 7 am. And to anyone who's ever lost man's best friend.

I'd really like a list of all the K-9 transformers figures ever made.

Are you including wolves, like Beast Wars Silverbolt?
Also, is Beast Machines Quick Strike a wolf or dog or something else? Another weird one looking through the Cybertronian Index is Beast Changer aka Savage Noble (BM).
Also, Carnivac (pretender) is a wolf.
That's all I can find through RID, aside from the ones mentioned by Burn.

Cybertron Snarl
Classics Minicon Overbite

These are the only ones I have so far. I'd like to make a pack.

I believe it's this Quickstrike: http://www.tfu.info/2000/Maximal/Quickstrike/quickstrike.htm

Very interesting looking guy.

Others I can think of:

Botcon Weirdwolf(repaint of Cybertron Snarl)

Beast Wars Jawbreaker: http://www.tfu.info/1999/Maximal/Jawbreaker/jawbreaker.htm

Universe Frostbite(great repaint btw 8) ): http://www.tfu.info/2005/Decepticon/Frostbite/frostbite.htm

I concur. There aren't as many dog Transformers as cats.
:-? Kitbashing, anyone? (or kittenbashing?)

1. Yes Wolves count. A wolf after all is just a larg dog.

2. BW Quickstrike was a Fuzor of a Scorpion and Cobra but the poster wasn't talking about BW Quickstrike. He spicifically listed BM Quickstrike which is in fact a wolf.

I've never seen this K-9 in the cartoon episodes. He's supposed to be in Beast Wars, right? Or somewhere else?

It was a joke (albeit a bad one), thanks for ruining it.

He was one of the many non-show characters.

So what's the point of non-show characters?

New molds instead of repaints.

Look at the last few series. A small number of molds were developed and then reused for repaints.

Look at Beast Wars. Large number of molds were developed and few repaints used.

Personally I prefer numerous molds/few repaints over few molds/numerous repaints.

That's what happens when a toy company makes a cartoon series. There are far more toys than cartoon characters.

I can't say much about other toy lines but I'd estimate about 90% of the Beast Wars/Machines toys are non-show characters.

G1 started it really, the only difference was that at least nearly every toy appeared in the cartoon at once. That's why it was pretty much a giant toy commercial.

And like SP said, BW/BM had the highest rate of non-show characters, and original molds. Armada/Energon/Cybertron repaints were more often than not, simply "powered up" versions of characters using pre-existing molds.

Only a small number of the repaints were non-show characters and I don't recall any of the A/E/C molds not being part of the cartoon.

Some of the Minicons in Armada(I think, never saw every episode), Energon Sharkticon, Slugslinger, Towline. Cybertron Hardtop, Wreckloose, just to name a few(I'm sure there's more).

Out of the Beast Wars remolds to appear in the Armada Line only Rhinox actully made it on the series and he was only a backround character.

At any rate can we please remove the disscussion off this topic and get back to the K-9 Transformers.

Now what about Hound? Why has that name never been used for a K-9 Transformer? I'm amazed with all the Beast Formers out there Hound continues to remain a Jeep.

Carnivores eat protein and protein improves brains.

On a side note, I once learned to talk like Yoda, but now I only do it when I'm really tired and can't keep my words in order.
