Message From BotCon

The following plea and notes from the people of BotCon 2007 was send via news letter to all the members of the Master Collector Transformers Club. The following has been taken directly from their latest newsletter.

"Hello _________!

This is going out to all members and if it does not apply, please disregard. I know that everyone is very excited about BotCon this year and so are we. I need to ask everyone again, please don't call or email about your registration packages. This is causing a HUGE log jam and is keeping us from getting these forms processed.

Notes:

1. Everyone will get a call or email about their packages.

2. Many people made mistakes on their forms and it takes a while to fix these. We can't read a lot of the writing so we are having to call because of bounced emails.

3. When you get a call or email, you will get a reference number. That's all it is...a number so that we can quiclky find your papework again before it is processed. Once it goes into the computer, the numbers don't mean anything anymore.

4. It will take as much as 2 more weeks to process what is in house and bill credit cards.

5. If your card has a problem, we will only retry it once and then we will come back to you after we finish the rest of the registrations.

6. If we have a question about your form, it is VERY important that you answer us back within 24 business hours or we may have to give your spot to someone else.

7. The customizing class is full. We have opened a second class on Wednesday and it is full as well. There was a HUGE demand for this class.

8. The 3-D display class still has a few seats. This class will be just as good as the customizing class.

9. Do not re-fax the same form again as this causes more work to see if it is a duplicate.

10. I will email everyone when we are finished with the email/phone confirmations. THEN you can call us if you think we did not get your form.

11. You will get a hard copy confirmation sometime in late May/early June.

Again, it will probably take 2 more weeks to catch up with all of the registrations.

Thanks for your understanding and support.

Brian

PS our new temporary phone hours are 9:30-4:00 Central time weekdays as we need to get the work done".

The translated and compressed version:

"AAAIIEEE! AVALANCHE OF PAPERRR!!!"

I wouldn't want to be on their front desk right about now.

Everybody that can't get to Botcon & is going to get screwed out of Classics Thundercracker should send them 100 emails a day.

A simple solution to their "handwriting woes" would be to put the registration form up in a Word Document so that people could type in their answers, then print out the form, and fax it in.

Yeah, there is not much space to write things neatly on those forms....

I agree. There's a total of four of us going (2 primus packages and 2 mini-cons). I had to attach my own list so that they knew exactly what I wanted! :(

Wow. I didn't know you had to preregister to go there. Or is it only to get the toys?

You can pay a walk in rate after waiting in a line forever at the convention. Pre-registering often, but not always, saves times and gives you a chance to get the convention premiums (toys) and take advantage of special opportunities, such as the movie screening.
