With the U.S. BotCon now behind us, and with less then 40 days to go, the Dutch/European Transformers convention, fully acknowledged on the sites of both the dutch and the belgian websites of Hasbro, to be held on June 8th 2008 in Nieuwegein The Netherlands, has more updates and announcements to make.

The convention now has their own YouTube page. Apart from the promo-teaser that was released earlier, the YouTube page also has the following video's which are a Trailers and four clips of the accounts of last years Transformers Convention which was held on june 10th 2007 in IJsselstein. These new clips have been put together by the newest member of the team, Niels Berndsen.

The crew also announces that they are still looking for people to sign up for the Art competition and the Kitbash competition. Anyone who enters has chance to win prizes, not just the ones that look the most professional or the most beautiful, as judging will also look at the creativity of the work and originality. Sign up for the kitbash competition and the Artwork competition before may 8th. If by that time not enough people have responded, these competitions will not take place at the convention. This was decided after the weak turn out last year.

The poster competition is still on. Look for the details here on where to download the B.O.T.S. poster (which features characters from the Transformers: Animated series) and hang it up somewhere in your area and see how you can win prizes with it.

Great, I wish this kind of stuff was done in my country (Portugal) as well, but I feel I'm not getting any luck on that...

Don't wait for other people to start one, start your own! About 10 or so years ago, the very first dutch convention was held in a garage with about 10 or 15 people being there. Since then the organisation switched a few times, and we picked it up last year. The only difference between what we do and previous years is that ours is fully backed by Hasbro and is much bigger. But the roots are still a couple of guys in a garage spending time talking about Transformers! :D

And if you are able to make the journey, you are of course very welcome ;)

I didn't say it was easy, but as someone who is part of the team putting this together, I can tell you that the pain of putting this together is definately worth it! 8)

I'm sure it is, from the videos it definitely seems that way :) . And you sure gave me a good idea because I'm planning on open a hobby store with my cosin, and that would be a great event we could organize. Let us hope everything will go well :D . Our country is really lacking on these stuff. Can you believe that even our Toys'R'Us doesn't have almost any Transformers toys?

Well, let me know how it turns out. Maybe we can work together on some level sometime in the future! 8)

Great, thanks :D , I've added you to my friends list on this site. We're counting on starting our business on the beginning of 2009 after I finish my research work, and then we'll see about doing such an event. It's an awesome idea!
