Does anyone know whats up for TF2 yet or if they are going to have the same voice cast for it? Cause I wish they would use Frank Welker for Megatron. I feel he should be apart of the Movie; I mean they had him do "Transformers the Game" and they used him in the DVD Bonus extra "Transformers Beginnings" and Im sorry for anyone who Disagrees with me but to me he is the Voice the Megatron. He may sound a little "Grandfather Megatron" now but he is still the voice of Megatron. I remember Frank in a intreview once said that when he won the role of Megatron he wanted something Metallic sounding, angry and yet agitated and thats what I think Megatron is. I think Frank Welker deserves a fair shot in the Movie atleast while he is still alive. Frank and Peter Once again on the Big Screen one last time!

Frank made a statement several months ago about Hugo Weaving's voice role that sums up my feelings regarding Megatron. He noted how the editors distorted Hugo Weaving's voice so much that it no longer sounded like him. So why was there so much fuss to pick Hugo Weaving?
Just put Frank in for christ sakes.

I'd definitly love to see Frank playing Megs in TF2 but it depends on whether the casting people want him or not, if Frank has the time and if they even have Megatron in TF2.

We talked about this over the weekend...
Surprisingly there was a consensus that Hugo's Megatron was the way to go. I love Welker's work, I do. However, his online demo just did not hold the weight for me that it used to.

Im kinda hoping Megatron doesnt come back. It would make destroying the Allspark a moot thing and really discredit the plot of the first movie. Thats just one man's opinion.

I say, bring Megatron back in TF3, not 2. Also, Welker woulda been cool for nostalgic purposes, but for continuity's sake, let's stick with Weaving. I enjoyed his Megatron in the first film, and I'd love to hear him reprise the role in future films.

Oh for bloody @#%^&*#$^&*!!!
At this point let megatron STAY dead and end this frank welker none sense.
For the fans of Galvatron ( eh hem

) let him be a completely different robot and not the result of a rebuilding or reformatting of megatron.
A competent but silent warrior in the decepticon ranks that never sought out the command of the decepticons before but when the opportunity arose after megatrons death he could have a brief power struggle with starscream and then take control.

It's not like Megatron (or any Decepticon) truly had that many lines in the first movie.
However, assuming Megatron stays dead until Tf3, there's a pretty good way of doing this. Find a role for Frank Welker SOMEWHERE in TF2, I don't care if he plays a transforming toaster. After all, he did a LOT more than just megatron, in both Transformers and elsewhere.
Giving him some sort of role does a couple things. It introduces his talents to a new fanbase. Let's face it, there's no way TF would have done 300 million in the US alone just off of the G1 base. Secondly, it opens the door for him to do either Megatron or even Galvatron in a later movie for probably a lot less salary than some of these "mainstream" actors would comand. Finally, it shows respect to someone who had a huge role in the brand staying around for so very long.

I will certainly agree with this idea 100%! I don't have a problem with him doing some voices as long as he is competent in doing the voices quality wise and does not sound like a rusty door opening like he did in the first movie game but to have petitions for the dubbing over of Hugo Weavings voice or switch megatron over to Frank Welkers voice if megatron comes back is ridiculous to me.

I didn't listen to him in the game but I've heard him do fairly recent work on Scooby Doo and he sounded fine.
Sometimes the way a voice comes out has a lot to do with how the bigwigs want it (like Animated Optimus Prime's voice)

I would want Frank back instead of the Matrix guy (what's his name again?). Count me in.

I totaly agree that Frank Welker should be in TF2.
But I would prefer that Megatron stay dead and that he voiced Soundwave.

What? Why? Whats up people? What has everyone have against Megatron. He was barley in the Movie except the for last Half hour; and in TF Animated it took 15 whole Shows for him to get back on his feet and even still he barley gets any screen time. Whats going on?! Lets See Megatron Doing what Megatron Does! Megatron is a Transformer, This is the Transformers, I wanna see some Transformers!
I don't understand where it is that we think, that we want, Transformers in 2008 to evolve into.

I was wondering the same thing!! Is it that he is just too derned badass for them to have him around?? I can understand that sentiment, but I do not condone it! Bring Big Megs back in TF2 and 3....with more screen time and better lines (hell, ALL the characters in the movie(s) need better lines)!

It seems this generation of viewers will have a very different impression of Megatron. Mostly missing in action. Trying to give him an enigma which can't really work because new viewers don't even know his supposedly traditional personality.

I'd like to see Welker come back as Soundwave rather than Megatron.I mean, I'd love to hear G1 Megatron's voice for nostalgic reasons, but parts of the 80's are going....we don't even know if Megs is gonna be back for #2 yet...Soundwave though...

If we're going to campaign, couldn't we campaign for a decent director and writing team instead?
