He's always been an egomaniac. He's the embodiment of the worst parts of the ego. He's a sociopath, arrogant, careless, self-serving, and narcisistic. Combine that with his smarts and cleverness and that's what you get. That's one of the things we like about him. He doesn't hold back. And he and Megatron ironically catch the other making mistakes yet neither one listens to the other because they hate each other.

Sad but true. But it does make for a very interesting dynamic.

Isn't this said dynamic the reason we love to watch the two of them hate on one another?? Two kings cannot rule one kingdom, and both think they are the king! I LOVE Megs, obviously, but I have this weird deal with Starscream. I love to hate that rat-b@st@rd! I like to see him do something retarded to Megs to get himself blasted on! He is, to me, Megatron's little whipping boy...and every great tyrannical overlord needs one of those!

Just a little story. I was hanging out with some guys last month and they were discussing Starscream. One of them puts on this poker face and looks at me and says something like: "I dont get it, what do women see in Starscream, why do they like him". Then it got real quiet as they all expected me to start embarassing myself over a fictional character in which I think I entertained them quite well on the subject.
Here is where it gets freaky. The guys I was hanging out with write the TF comics. To hear them discuss Starscream was pretty cool.

Bad boy charm. Not his chin. I've always liked Starscream and characters similar to him. Lord chamberlain of the Darkcrystal comes to mind. And wile E. Coyote.

Yep, definately the bad boy charm for me too. And I like the artist who thought to give him a dimple when he smiles his evil grin. (Guess that depends on which cartoon you watch.)

I must admit, my first beloved TF was indeed Starscream....back in 1985, when I was 15 yrs old! He seems to attract the wee girlies; usually between 12 and 16 yrs old...It is, more than likely, his bad-boy-ness that hooks them.

Now, that I am older (and somewhat wiser), I cannot stand Starscream...but it is a strange hate, really....I LOVE to hate him! It gives me a giggle every time he acts the fool and gets a taste of Megatron's fusion cannon for his trouble! I enjoy watching him get his arse handed to him, and the more often it happens, the more I giggle! He's the perfect whipping boy for Big Megs, and a world without said whipping boy is a sad world indeed!

Yeah, like when he possessed Scourge to reactivate Unicron? Or when he possessed Cyclonus and him and Octane tried to take over the Decepticons? Or when he interfered with the Beast Wars by possessing Waspinator, so he could take over the Predacons?

Compared to any of that, making a Clone Army to kill things is fairly normal.
