My brother snapped this pic for me in Montreal. I've always had a soft spot for the style used in graffiti (it's vandalism, I know, but it's still pretty cool) and this piece of the classic Decepticon leader is sure to get the attention of any Transformer fan!

That is real neat.
It's not vandalism anymore is it? I thought they classed as expressionist art now?

Either way, It looks real cool.

Shame not even 'artists' can get Meg's face just right! :P

no graffiti is still a crime that can be punished hard for. only when its done by a artist for a real reason then is it ok. but some random kid doing it will be punished if caught. now me being an illustrator i can take appreciation for it as an art form but its still illegal.

Was this one done illegally, or is it a legal one that they wanted a mural done by an artist? Because if its legal, then they won't whitewash it. It looks too cool to be whitewashed.

In Holland they gave them walls to paint on, so that the artist no longer use other walls for it. Maybe something for other countries to think about.

The urban sections of the US aren't exactly lacking for unused stretches of old wall and such, that no one cares whether you paint on it. Don't know about Canada though.

Thats neat, i Like.

Thats neat, I like. I bet the owner of the wall was pissed at first, unless he is a Transfan.

In Gainesville FL, there is a wall on 34th st. that is used for random graffiti and what not. Every couple of years, someone thinks it's a blight, and says it should be banned. However, it never is. It's become an institution, there are birth annoucements, graduation, death, happy birthdays, random nonsense, It's great. Every time I come back, I drive past the wall to catch up on the latest news.

A few years ago, they decided to strip it down the paint to the wall, there was like 8 & 1/2 inches of paint on there. Crazy, but that wall has been painted one since long before I did it in the mid '90's. My mom says that it has been painted on since the late '70's easy.

If people didn't have a place to do it legally, then they would do it anywhere illegally.
