Transformers Cussing.

I think I recall the subtitle saying "damn" or something (can't remember exactly) while watching the 1986 TF movie at an anime club.

And, Galaxy Force Starscream also said, "Bullshit!" in a subtitle when I saw an episode about him about to take on Galvatron on Youtube.

So, not only did Transformers pick up our English language perfectly, they also picked up some of our not-so-savory words. :P

Any other examples?:) And I don't mean just "SLAG!", heh.

I think it's more of an example of trying to substitute Japanese cursing with english. For example:

Kisama (SP?) can be translated as "crap" "****" "damn" and the like. It's all up to the subber to decide.

if it weren't for Megatron I wouldn't be calling all of my lazy assistants at work "dolts."

I remember the one episode where Metroplex' eyes were stolen. I watch that episode and several times I could have sworn Powerglide said a word when he was accidentally shot. Aside from that I think the majority of the swearing was found in Japanese episodes.

Because the Japanese don't have the FCC breathing down their necks, so they cna get away with more.

In one Gundam series, the main character said "I'll teach you not to f*ck around with me!!" Though it may have just been the translation.

I remeber when my bro misinterpreted Grimlock's "bossy autobots" as "pussy autobots" but it makes since coming from Grimlock comapred to the autobots

Well, they aren't from a TF, but there is the two lines from Spike.

"Eh, sh*t. What are we going to do now?" (TFTM)

"Nuts to that." (Divide and Conquer)

TF the Movie 1986 to quote Megatron after the Autobot Shuttle Massacre.........."you're an idiot Starscream......." yeah, expletives or pejoratives are a norm and crosses the inter species boundary.

It might just be the Japanise series because in America we're not allowed to cuss on TV. (And I belive that violates the freedom of speach but lets not go there.)

I remember in the Headmasters episode where there were 2 Convoys, Galvatron says "This is Bullshit!". There was also a number of other swears in that series, like it was casual. And it was, for Japanese TV.......................

We are allowed a little leverage there. Prime time is allowed words like "Damn," "Hell," "Ass," "Crap," "Piss," and the occasional "Bitch."

However higher-teir swears like ****, and F*ck aren't allowed. South Park, however, proving they have stainless steel gonads (Or perhaps a big enough pocketbook to pay off the FCC), said the word "****" 167 times.

I kid you not, there was a little counter at the bottom, that went up every time that said it. One guy even screamed it out at least twenty times out of anger.

That same episode, they said only gay people are allowed to say "F*g" without getting censored. (Said by Mr. Garrison, who is openly gay. One bar patron manages to say it without getting censored, followed by "Uh-oh.")

Oh, and apparently, "Meekrob" is a swear word.

I loved that episode! With the knights of the forbidden words who come to slay those who sweat too much.

Anyway, I don't think there were that many real swear words in TF episodes, but I like to interprit some lines like "shove it up your afterburner" and "I have the plan if you have the cast iron manifolds" as being ways of implying swearing.

The only curse words in TFTM were Spike saying
"Oh **** what are we going to do now"
and Ultra Magnus saying "Dammit open".

I saw that episode and I watch alot of South Park. Mr. Garrison is NOT openly gay (at least not at that time) and he WAS the bar patron you were talking about.

Mr. Garrison never admits to being gay till later in the series after living as a hermit in the mountains. Before that everyone in town knew he was gay but he was constantly trying to convince them he wasn't.

Is "crap" a curse word? They used to say it on Boy Meets World, which is the most non-offensive show known to humankind.
