TF Dealer closes for good! Goodbye Spencer.

As of December 31st Ages Three And Up will no longer be in operation. I would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years and am most appreciative of all the friends I have made over this time.

After December 31st we will no longer take any more orders and all preorders with Ages Three And Up will be cancelled and refunds issued for all items we did not receive. All products that are on hold for orders will be finalized and shipped out. I apologize for the delays we have had and have done my best at getting items in but to no avail.

We will also be closing our Metrotown location and from December 26th to December 31st everything on the site and in the store will be on sale at both locations.

Again, thanks to everyone over the years.

Spencer.

That's a shame that they are closing. I liked those folks.

I talked with Spencer a couple weeks ago and I knew that the last month or so was really bad but not to the point that he was looking to close down. I can't help but think that if they hadn't pushed and opened that 2nd location in Oakridge, that this could have been avoided.

This is truely disappointing seeing I don't like to order online that much so if it wasn't for A3U bring things in, there are a number of items that just would not be in my personal collection.

Oh well, I guess Golden Age will be back handling my regular comics again.

Contact them now. They are still open for the next 2 weeks, so call the store and see if there is still a way for them to do an order with you. In so far as I am aware they should have them in stock.

Three times a charm, posting this...jeez, stupid computers...

This is really sad news, I heard from their site. :( It's especially sad to me because I visit the store on a regular basis and have talked to Spencer, I know how much he loved his job and hope he and his family will make it through this tough time.

Part of this may be due to the downturn in the economy and the extra expense of opening the second store, but I know a big part of it is because of a Japanese supplier which basically ripped him off. A good portion of preordered Japanese products just never came, he tried his best to obtain them from different sources to fulfil everyone's orders, but it looks like the cost was just too much.

I hope the best for Spencer and his family in the future.

A small consolation to us local shoppers (but still sad for Spencer :(), I hear rumor that a new store will be opening in the same location under new ownership in the near future. I don't know if there will be an online store or how true the rumor is but at least it gives us Lower Mainlanders hope of a good local source for comics and toys.

Maybe Spencer will still be able to work there.

This is terrible news! A3U was the best. I got my roadbots from them ages ago. Flat shipping, fair prices, Spencer, and cute girls who liked toys... all dispersing in this bad economy? Frowns, frowns, frowns, and frowns! Best of luck to Spencer and everyone who works there.

Such a shame. I've had the pleasure of meeting Spencer on several occasions and he and his.. how shall I say "help" 8) have always been a huge help and always did their best to get those obscure items that fans wanted.

I doff my cap to you Spence. Best of luck. Hope you can still come to the next TFCon.

Hmm... I have mixed feelings about the store closing..

I hear good things about Spencer all the time, and the reputation of the store is generally good. Though I ordered 3 henkei figures and 2 gundams almost a year ago, and they haven't arrived. What bothers me is that it does say packed and shipped back in early November, so I guess there is a chance that it is still circulating somewhere....

Still, say to see another good toy store go down.

The Henkeis were the some of the items which never showed up. If you don't get them soon you'll likely get a refund. You should definitely contact them to see what's going on though, it shoulnd't take that long to ship.

I just caught this, and I am really not surprised. I'm sure Spencer and his team are very nice and great to chat with, but word on the internet travels fast. Do a search for them on the toy forum and I think why they closed might be quite obvious.

Or not. thou things are related, the major issues people have posted about are the result of the same issues as why Spencer decided to step back. Not the cause. Had some people not screwed around with him, than everything would still be going fine. It was no an easy choice to make as he did intend to fill all orders, but when trusted suppliers suddenly take off with out notice, and others ship knock-offs instead of real releases, that can really hurt your business.

As it is, this is an old topic now, A3U has been closed for weeks, and the physical store has already reopened with new management.
