Target/brain/head/breastmasters in Beast Wars?

When the Autobots and Decepticons got the Maximal/Predacon upgrade, what happened to the masters? I've always assumed the Maximals/Predacons were roughly the same size as the masters. Did they ever cover this?

I haven't seen any mention of it in the cartoons. What masters? From the episode when Megatron tries to kill Optimus Prime in the ark it seems Primal and Megatron are about the size of a human, maybe a little bigger.

Targetmasters, Brainmasters, Headmasters, and Breastmasters are the masters I'm talking about. That's why I said it in the title :P

the masters had died of old age and they never made more. In the original series the nebulans we're made into masters because it was the only way to save them(?), and same with daniel. The aytobots didn't want to out of sake of endangering more people, but the nebulans proclaimed it as their war, and the cons always get stuff like that afterwards so they did it.

yes beastwars characters are about human size, so no masters wouldn't fit. though the beast factions are the right size to BECOME masters... hmmm

while were at it why no beast action masters :P

They're never mentioned because Beast Wars wasn't initially intended as a sequel to any other TF series. The references to G1 were started once it was realised there were still TF fans out there.

Least, that's what I heard...

I think Megatron and Optimus Primal are taller, like 8 or 9 feet tall. :-?

A guy in a master suit should be around 6 to 7 feet tall, this is mostly due to the amount of armor that was slapped on.

So it wouldn't work on any beast era TF's due to the size difference.

I should have added that I wasn't asking if there was masters in Beast Wars, it was more of what happened to the characters? Did they become Maximals/Predacons as well or just die off?

I think they died after all BW is said to take place 300 or 400 years after G1 season4?

Victory happened a long time after G1, they still had Brainmasters/Breastmasters. They never said they were former organics that I know of. I just assumed they were more robots

In G1 season 4 they were organic. In Headmasters the same characters are no longer organic but robots who left Cybertron hundreds or thousands of years ago.

They aren't mentioned in BW so we can speculate as much as we want. The simple answer is: they just get left out of the story.

The big misconception is that Beast Wars is based off the G1 Cartoon. Like someone already pointed out, initially it was not the intent of the show to be linked to the original season. It was due to the internet responses that Bob Forward decided to mix Beast Wars with G1.

But the link with G1 isn't the cartoon universe (some bits perhaps, but mostly) it was the Marvel Comics that was their basis for the G1 realm within Beast Wars. In fact, it was the Marvel Comics G2 issues that served as the template for their stories.

As for reasoning that they are in the Marvel Comics universe,... For one, ancient in the comics would be a few hundred years, for the cartoon at least a few thousand. There was no mention of the name 'The Ark' in the cartoon, like there was in the comics. Also, there never was a mention of a MARB vehicle in the cartoon, while both Beast Wars and the Marvel Comics had them.

The only cartoon hint in Beast Wars was the episode 'Possession', which featured the return of Starscream's ghost.

The G1 Cartoon! Obviously, since I was talking about which media Beast Wars was based on!

In the original show, the Autobot spaceship was just referred to as Head Quarters or the Vulcano. The type of ship was only described once as Colonial Vessles. The name "The Ark" was never used, until Beast Wars, which, as was my point, is based on the comicbooks, where the Autobot ship WAS named 'The Ark'

An inside joke of the Cartoon writers for Ultimate Doom and Countdown To Extinction was to name the Decepticon sympathizer Dr. Arkeville. Or Ark=Evil, as they never used that name on the show.

I never realised they didn't say 'Ark' in the cartoon. I grew up with the comics and couldn't watch the cartoon until recently so I just always think of it with that name. And as for Arkeville, well that's pretty cunning!
