http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... 117164.eceGORDON Brown yesterday named the leader who can help him save the world . . . Transformers hero Optimus Prime.
The under-pressure Prime Minister — grappling with recession, climate change and war in the Middle East — said the Autobot chief “seems able to solve most problems”.
Mr Brown, mocked last month for a slip of the tongue when he said he had “saved the world,” made the comment on a radio show. Listeners in Birmingham grilled him on how the Labour Government would help them through the economic crisis.
The PM was also asked about Christmas with young sons John and James. He said: “Transformers is a big thing. If I could meet Optimus Prime, he seems able to solve most of the problems.”
Optimus is a caring hero in the cartoon and film, using his talents to make the world a better place.
He also transforms himself from a lorry into a fully-armoured robot soldier with laser rifle . . . perfect for destroying Mr Brown’s sworn enemies the Decepticonservatives.

He was not being serious but given the times we are living in he needs to be more serious than this at all times especially when so many are losing their jobs, homes and livelihoods.

Yep. He's a retard. Figures he wants to model himself on a 2 dimensional charecter who in reality would be a terrible military leader...
Actully, he really is modelling himself on prime!

We have many ex-Brits living and doing well over here mate. You would be welcomed to the colonies with open arms. You will have to learn to shovel snow and handle a -40 Celsius winter windchill and +40 Celsius summer humidity.

Indeed, Plenty of expats, lots of beer, and you have a better chance at getting the figures that Hasbro-uk seems to mess up. If you can handle football being a lower tier sport over here but are willing to give Hockey a chance then Canada may be your answer.
PS: there are parts of the country where the temperatures aren't that extreme.

I am so moving to Canada after I graduate.
I'll live right next to the US border, so I can drive on down and raid the closest walmart and target stores

Come to Vancouver/Surrey. The Bellingham Walmart, Target, TRU and Big K will welcome you.

I dunno what it is but this does make me somewhat proud. You can tell he's just making a joke; which other heads of state involve popular culture, much less our hobby, in their talks?
I also think Prime would make a great leader for our country.
