Actually he spotted a donut delivery truck going in the other direction and left the battle and got into a high speed chase for some jelly filled goodness.

That's why he suddenly disappeared.

OMG IT SO IS! How could you have missed the book's chapter on Barricade where they explicitly canonized his love for sweet baked goods!

Oh Tekka,

You know that Barricade's love of donuts is second only to Hot Shot's love of JaAm.

I too have read this chapter.
And it turns out that the Donut truck was a Decepticon that ransacked a Bakery shop and scanned a quick getaway vehicle to run away with the precious cargo, whom later contacted Barricade and then Both of them feasted on donuts and sang campfire songs untill dawn whilst the other Decepticons lost their sparks.

Now you may ask, Why would the Decepticons be so fiendish to steal a shop Donuts?
My answer: ThEy HaD JaAm

I still have some donuts that can with my Bob and Doug MaKenzie figures, I wonder if my Barricade can hold on to one.

Then I'll need to find some JaAm for when I pick up Classics Hot Shot.

:APPLAUSE:   :APPLAUSE: I needed to read that. As for OPTIMUS PRIME, dude it's a bunch of alien robots that turn into vehicles/animals/background scenery. Don't take it so serious. It's all about FUN.

Toruses (Tori?)(Plural of torus?)...

ahem...

Donut shapes would make alot of sense for a way to store energon. Cubes, although easy to stack, would be a structurally disasterous way to store energy. (I guess that's why they blew up all the time.)

Magnetic fields can be more stable in a torus shape, right? That's why the cyclotrons are donut-shaped.... or so I thought....

Energon donuts.. doughnaughts... doughnuts... do naughts...

yum.

Although they might explode when bitten...
good thing only Japanese transformers and beast-eras have teeth.
