Favorite/Least Favorite Combiner?

Tried looking to see if something like this was done recently, didn't' see anything like it, so thought I'd make one, also, I figured General discussion was the best place for it, sorry if it should be somewhere else..
Have a favorite combiner? Maybe one you really don't like also. Going to try and remember all the ones there has been (G1 from the comics and cartoon).
Constructicons- Devastator
Stunticons- Menasor
Combaticons- Bruticus
Predacons- Predaking
Terracons- Abominus (I think)
Seacons- Piranacon
Aerialbots- Superion
Protectobots- Defensor
Technobots- Computron
All I can remember, if your fav isn't on the list then just add it.
On a sidenote, why is it the Decepticons have like twice as many, lol.
Oddly, I'd have to say my most fav (of these here) are the Combaticons, I dunno, not really sure why, there's just something about them and Bruticus. Next might have to be the Constructicons.
I guess the Terracons would be my least fav.

Strictly G1? Predaking is just sweet, but my favorite might be Piranacon--all the individual bots' colors and designs work really well together in combined form. Plus, one doubles as a huge weapon!
Honorable mention to Computron as well.
Least favorite would have to be Superion. He's tall, but man is he spindly....

No, you can list any combiner, not just from the G1 series, I just mentioned that because those are the only ones I know/remember, haven't watched any other series or read any other comics, than the ones based on G1.

Oh, well then one HAS to respect the sheer awesomeness that is RID Railracer. Maybe the best combiner to date...from ANY line.

Fav. Combiner team - The Contstructicons (b/c Hook and Scrapper)
Fav. Gestalt - Predaking(b/c his attitude)
Least favorite - I don't like Computron (He's supposed to be the smartest of them but he just comes off like he's standing around rattling off his mouth.)

My favourite would have to be The Combaticons/Bruticus.
Bunch of soldiers that transform into tanks, a helicopter and a space shuttle(?), nice and well armed. And who could forget the moment where Bruticus took over Cybertron by himself.
Least favourite would have to be The Technobots/Computron.
Sure they had decent looking alt modes, but i prefer combiners that combine to fight and cause property damage. Not so they can stand around and mumble all day.

That would have to be the one major gap in my RiD collection.
If you stretch the term combiner to two bot "teams", I really like Omega Prime. He's only made up of two bots (and not even all of Op is used) but he's friggin huge and looks like he could walk through hell and back and keep on going.
I really didn't like the combo of Armada Prime + Jetfire + Overload. He might be big, but he's incredibly unstable.
Going to more traditional teams, I like G1 Defensor because his head wasn't an extra part to keep track of. Odd reason but hey, it's my opinion, I can use any reasons I want.
I really didn't like Superion, because (at least in my case) Silverbolt's legs were too loose to properly support the combined mass. I really liked the concept of the Aerialbots, but the toy just didn't work for me.
More recent, I really didn't like how half the limbs of the Energon combiner teams were just repaints.

I don't get Railracer honestly. He's neat and all, but not that great, but that's just my opinion so, it means very little.
Lamest combiner? Defensor. Giant robot war machine that serves as protection? Bah. Weak. Giant robots comprised of giant robots should be twice as bad assed as said intitial giant robots, not wimps. Also, Superion. Awful toy.

I think a lot found him cool because: A. He's made up of trains, which isn't too common; B. He looks good--very proportionate and his different "parts" make sense and look right; and C. His articulation is pretty outstanding for a combiner, since most combiners can basically move their arms and legs up and down/back and forth. He could be bigger, but he's pretty sweet.

My all time favorite combiner was the Stunticons simply for their personality traits. They were just flat insane (derived from other pcharacteristic downfalls like verbal abuse, manipulation, etc)!
The Constructicons are a favorite because of combining design. It's unique to all other combiner designs.
My least favorite are the combiners from Energon. Don't get me started on those trashy builds.

I think ultiamtely my favourite is Devastator...Not just because he was the first, but because there's just always been something really cool about the constructicons...I also like how Devastator is made up of six combiners instead of the later standard of five...Granted, five is more practical and effective, but I really like the idea of the whole gestalt being made up of smaller robots rather than a large robot with smaller robots for arms and legs...
Aside from Devastator though, Predaking has never stopped being badass...And he's one of the few G1 toys that still inspires a huge amount of awe in me when I look at him (I wish I could afford one of my own)...I've never been fond of beastformers, but I jsut can't deny how cool that combiner team is...

Do I have to say my favorite?
Least out of any ever would be Superion Maximus.
From G1:
Least favorite team is Aerialbots since it is a lack of a team.
Least favorite gestalt is Bruticus because he is a dumb-a$$ compared to Onslaught.

Everytime I see a rehash of this type of thread I have to say the same thing........
I never see any love for the "REAL" first combiner.
Reflector.

My favorites is a tie between Mensor and Predaking.
My least fvaorite G1 combiner is Brutcus. I'm literally sick of this group.
I hate all of RiD combiners. Pain in the ass to transform POS toys and impossible to get them to connect right and hold longer than 5 seconds before they fall apart.
Then again except for Fire Convoy/Optimus Prime toy the rest of RiD's orginal toys were crap to begin with.
I didn't care for the Energon Combiners either.

Well that depends on how you look at it.
Spectro, Spyglass, and Viewfinder could be considered 3 individual but combining characters or Reflector could be seen as a single character with 3 bodies.
The 3 robots were never individually named in the cartoon and were portrayed as a single character.
I don't know about the comic version but I guess it's possible that the trio were actully seperate characters.

It really depends on "which" comics were talking about.
I dont believe that the original Marvel G1 really went into it but Dreamwaves and IDW's G1 comics have used Reflector in their stories.
Dreamwaves had the very clearly as 3 separate characters as does IDW's.
As does the toyline giving them each names.

I'm just saying that if you think of them as a single character then he really isn't a combiner. If anything he's a seperator. (yes I just made that up.) It just depends on which G1 continuity you're refering to.

I understood what you were trying to say......I just figured I'd give you the history of how the character[s] have been used.
AND BTW, no matter how you look at it Reflector utilizes combiner tech.

My favourite combiner toy is actually a KO. The oversized G1 Bruticus. First thing I bought on Ebay. Like how he compares to the Diaclones like Sideswipe and Ultra Magnus in all modes.
The KO Predaking has a great colour scheme. Love the white tiger mode of Rampage.
If the other teams had been done by the same company as Bruticus, he would actually have been my least favourite. Would love to see Menasor and Defensor done in that scale. They were always my favourite combiners growing up though I thought Motormaster ridiculously small when squared off against Prime. After reading of his rivalry with Prime in the tech specs, the scale inconsistency really disappoints. At least Actionmaster Prime seemed closer in scale to Motormaster.
Getting sick of all the Devestators and Bruticuses of recent years. It's as bad as all the Optimus Primes we've been getting. We really need a new Menasor.
Always had a soft spot for the Technobots and Terrorcons.
Outside G1, love the Universe repaint of RID Landfill as Devestator. Easily my fave official combiner.
Also love Energon Defensor, the Micromaster combiner repaint from the Japanese G1.
Least fave combiner is G1 Superion. Actually like Energon Superion Maximus.

My fav combiners in order are:
G1 Devastator - I love the asymmetrical design
G1 Predaking - This is how I felt the dinobots should be when I was a kid. He's just BIG.
G1 Superion - Spindly, yes, but I liked the planes
G1 Computron - I like the futuristic looking bots
G1 Menasor - Never had the toy

but I relly liked them, especially Motormaster
G1 Protectobots - never did much for me, the light blue & white was just kind lame IMO
RID Build King - A pretty cool update to the combiners concept
RID/Universe Devastator - A nice try, with some decent looking toys. I have 3 of these guys standing in as my classics Constructicons in my display. Kinda puny for Devastator though.
Energon combiners. If they had only used 4 different limbs instead of repaints. That and a little less emphasis on the energon bits, and these could have been really cool. As they are, they just fall flat. bleh.
I think that's it for the traditional combiners.
I always thought Reflector was really cool in the show, but the toy was a pretty weak representation of his on-screen form.
