I just thought of the best thing Hasbro could do to make Transformers the best thing evar (even more so than nao). How cool would it be if you could assemble your figure with like glue and other stuff? Sort of like a Gundam, except it could still transform. You could even get kits ti paint. For less experienced/ other lazy hating people, a core with attachable armor. It could still transform. Maybe we could get Hasbro to do this if we get enough fans? HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE!

I know Takara had a stab at something like that a while back.. I've only ever seen one myself.. a fairly simple model kit of Superlink Grand Convoy alongside his Grand Force..

Of course, that image (if it IS the kit I saw in Forbidden Planet) is hella painted up to look all nice and detailed for the camera.

If they made others like this I have no idea.. but your right, it would be a cool idea. I think Takara would be more likely to do something like that (again). I dont think Hasbro would see a profit in it..

i think its a great idea! i would much prefer to put my own stuff together because with my Gundams i just have a way better feel for how they work and exactly what they can do and what kind of play they can take, ya know. great idea man ;)^

I believe trans scanning was a bit like this, but not at the same time.

That'll be neat... TF kits. I need something to keep me occupied for days on end.

I'm with you. I don't have that much confidence in my assembling abilities to put them together. I also do not have the patience to do it right. I just recently got out my old GIJoe stuff and the stickers are all crooked and sideways.

Those were called kabaya kits. They turn up on ebay now and again. I believe the seller is called Might Gaine.

I have Highbrow, Brainstorm, Blaster, Getaway, Gripper, Flame and Lightspeed, Ravage, Rumble, Rodimus Prime and Galvatron.

The colours are regrettably wrong but otherwise they resemble the G1 toys perfectly except they are scaled down.

Blaster is the same size as G1 Springer and looks well with him.

Highbrow and Brainstorm are the same size as G1 Prowl with the Nebulans the same size as the old diaclone drivers. Would love them to do Hardhead, Weirdwolf and the rest. Sizewise, they look nice with G1 Scorponok towering imposingly over them or facing off against Snapdragon or Squeezeplay.

Getaway and the Motorvators are the same size as G2 Skram, again Rev is diaclone driver or Star Wars TF pilot size.

Rodimus and Galvatron are around Legends size.

Rumble and Ravage are slightly bigger than the G1 versions.

You can also get Metroplex, Trypticon, Blitzwing, Sixshot and Quickswitch.

Kabaya Transformers also come in World's Smallest size.

I have:

Crosshairs
Triggerhappy
the Duocons
Windcharger
Hot Rod
Bumblebee
Brawn
Slugslinger.

Those would be good for kitbashing (I could finally have an Orky Prime) but I'd always buy the factory-quality figures of a character if it was available.

"If it was available" being the key words though. The smart thing to do with an American model line would be to market characters outside of the currently running line, like they did with Titaniums.
