What Do You Buy A Female Transformers Fan?

Let's say you want to get that special girl in your life a gift. Said girl is blessedly into Transformers, but you have no idea what figures she does or does not have. What kind of gift would you give her? Transformers related, ofcourse.

A nifty TF t-shirt, provided you know her size.

Come on: you need to give us more info to work with here. First, budget; second, exactly how 'special' is this 'special girl'?

I mean if money is no object, duh, buy her a trip to the next big con. (A bit late for Botcon I think?) If you are thinking slightly smaller, you have to let us know how small--an ultra rare figure? A medium-rare? Give us a price range!

I do wonder, though, how 'special' this relationship is if you have NO idea of what she likes or already has?! I mean, any visitor to my office knows I'm a TF fan, and probably one of those Starscream obsessed ones. (Why Starscream gets a harem, but no one has the hots for say, Cosmos, I'll never know). Any visitor to my bedroom (which I would consider part of a *special* relationship as I define it) would have a large idea of the figures I already have. Anyone who sees me on a regular basis knows (almost) all the t-shirts I have. If she's a fan, what DVDs do you watch together? I mean, how do you *know* she's a TF fan?!

Surely you can at least narrow down to which continuity? Is she a TFA girl? Bayformers? G1? Beast Machines (shudder)? If you know one she likes, you can get one of the figures from a different continuity (so she'll be like me, with just about every Starscream figure ever sold in the US).

A safe bet might be one of the art books--unlikely she already has one, but fun to leaf through. Or an Ark compendium.

HK, who sees a new market: Decepticon logo lingerie! Who's with me?!

OK well, for starters she's just a friend. But any girl that's into Transformers is special to me. And I wasn't thinking big, only about $50 tops. I know she likes G1. I'm pretty sure she likes Animated and probably most things in between. But mostly G1. I know she likes G1 Starscream, G1 Arcee, and Animated "Shescream". We've only talked online a little, but we're both going to BotCon. So I thought when we meet up, I'd give a little gift because she such a nice person. But I'm not trying to start a romance. Just being friendly. Besides, I have no idea if she's already in a relationship. And she's a little old for me, anyway.

They have those little transforming stuffed toys of Bumblebee and Prime. That would be cute. T-shirt.

Dude! not all of us like Autobots! Just ask the Starscream Harem! Of which I am a charter member.

T-shirts can be kinda tricky, especially if our dear poster hasn't really had a chance to check the inside tag of her clothes, or her clothing preferences. I'm large framed and tall, and I hate superhuge tees--they look sloppy on me, and instead of being 'slimming' it looks like I'm trying that ol' 'wear a muumuu' trick that never works to make people think you're thinner than you are.

When I buy a tee I look for a medium or small (because t-shirts are sized on *men's* sizes already!) so it's fitted and not like an extra tent's worth of fabric.

So, you kinda have to know this girl's size and even a bit about her style--whether she prefers oversized or fitted or even slightly skankiliciously tight. (Hey, I go there occasionally, too!) If you get a woman a t-shirt that's enormous, and I speak from experience, it's going to hurt her feelings. My idiot ex bought me a men's XL motorcycle jacket, and though it was of course not cheap and it was a great idea, all I could think was, jeez, does he think I'm THIS huge?!?

And I don't consider myself that uptight about my weight. Hell, I don't even own a scale. So if it bothered feminist-oddball me, it probably stands a good chance of bothering some other less militant female as well.

Of course, the saving line if you buy way too big is that it'd be cute for her to wear as a nightshirt!

HK, fashionably underdressed.

Dude don't even worry, you're meeting up at Botcon and if you walk around the tables even once with her you'll find a scrapload of things that she'll like and no matter how much cash she brings she won't be able to get them all and will go away regretting at least that many things she didn't buy even if they were small. Just listen closely for squealie sounds when she sees something, and get her that something.

Ponycorn is right, but then giving her a gift on first meeting would be so much more special. In which case I like Dead Metal's idea, it's cute and unusual (well, I've not seen one before). My gf quite likes TFs and she creams over Starscream.

Ponycorn makes a lot of sense to me.

I remember being told years ago that the best way to buy a present is to get something you'd like.

When I first saw this topic, I wondered was it a female fan of Transformers or a fan of female Transformers?

But yeah, Ponycorn's suggestion seems to be the way to go to me.
