how much taller is a transformer vw beatle than an average human

I'm just guessing, but given the small size of a vw bug, and assuming Spike is between 5'6" and 6' for sake of argument, I'd think that Bumblebee would end up being somewhere between 4-6 feet taller than Spike. That's just a guess on my part though.

Yeah I second that...
I mean, no offense or anything, but there is really no point in questioning anything scale related in G1 Transformers...It was horribly inconsistant...

I always loved how they scaled the cassettes. Frenzy and Rumble sometimes looked like they were only a foot taller than the humans, and sometimes they towered over them. Ravage looked like a normal sized jaguar. They weren't even consistently scaled with themselves.

yeah g1 was full of scale sizing questions
i only bring it up because after watching
the live action movie the camaro bumble bee towers over the humans
i know that a camaro is larger than a vw but he was huge

Beyond scale, there is also one issue for most autobots and that is condencing space.
With Bubblebee, which is already a small car in the first place, think of how much of that space is open air which isn't kept in robot form.
That will affect size without taking scale or mass-shifting into concideration.

Bumblebee and Spike? What about the horrible scaleing of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus.
Technically Ultra Magnus is just a white Optimus Prime wearing a fairly large battle armor suit made of his trailer yet Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus are dipicted as being close to the same hight in robot mode. Ultra Magnus should be WAY bigger than Optimus Prime because of the added armor. Either that or Ultra Magnus' vehicle mode would have to be smaller than Optimus' in order to make them the same hight in robot mode. That would make Magnus about that size of Huffer.

Oh yeah, Motormasters cab just forms into his feet so techically Optimus Prime would just be a little taller than Motormaster's feet. (Adding in the hight of Optimus Prime's head and legs in vehicle mode he would be the exact same size as Motormaster's feet.)

since we're comparing actual scale of characters why not....Magnus to Motormaster

Yea, if they did, Starscream would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger than Megatron!

Interesting. Technically speaking they should roughly be the same size!

I think Motormaster would be a little bit taller due to the position of the truck cap on the robot modes.

What are ya talkin about? Astrotrain, Cosmos, Cyclonus, and Megatron (gun mode) were always to perfect scale in the g1 cartoon.

Oh, absolutely! I mean, how else would the Constructicons been able to form Devastator INSIDE Astrotrain in the 1986 Movie if his shuttle mode didn't have an 80 ft. ceiling?

Had he been to THAT scale I think Meagtrons earlier order would have been "Astrotrain, Transform and move in for the kill!" I would have been booted out of the theater back then for laughing too loud.

That scene posses a very valid question.
was Astrotrain mass-shifting larger so that Devs could be formed inside his cargohold?
or were all the other cons mass-shifted smaller thus fitting within his regular size?

Better yet, how much mass shifting occurs during his transformation from one alt to the other? They boarded while he was in train mode and had little head clearance when he closed the back hatch but he rolled forward and did a 180 rotation as he lifted off, transforming into his shuttle mode as he did so. Did the other 'Cons get tumbled around as he spun and how much did his interior expand during the transformation? Of course there is your point which also leads to the question, can a character mass shift down while remaining in it's present form or must it actually "transform" first?
The old crews from Sunbow and Marvel would be hating our guts right about now.

of course, i was joking, but on the real - the most convincing (but still out of scale) way to get to Cybertron was Omega Supreme "The rocket." I found it hilarious when all the other pieces would just appear out of no where when he transformed to base mode.

That's because Omega Supreme was the only other Transformer that knew where Prime's trailer went to when he transformed.
They both go to the same dimension as the socks you lose in the dryer and that Car keys occasionally phase in and out to.
I swear to Primus it's the truth!

haha. Luckily for me I've only lost one sock over the past few years - a dress sock at that. Just do a thorough search before u leave the dryer. & putting your keys in the same place everytime when not using them really helps

Your remote passes through that dimension briefly (or sometimes longer) when it does it's phase shift from your coffe table to under the couch cushion. Garage door openers have also been known to get caught "in-between" when they shift from the dashboard to their target points under the seat.

But my remote never leaves my room, and I don't have a couch in there. Typically for me my remote some how seems to magically appear in my laundry. (don't ask me how, I have no idea.)

Well then, don't be surprised if you trip over a trailer some morning where the remote should be. Your portal must be more intense than others. I should only have one spare Prime trailer left after selling the others off but the damn things keep showing up. Somehow I've got 2 spares now and I just can't figure out how it happened.
