Guitar Hero fans rejoice, we have gotten a release date for a downloadable version of Stan Bush's hit song "The Touch", featured in the 1986 Transformers movie.

Stan told us last week that he was gonna try and get this info to us asap and has held true to his word. May 28th 2009 will be the day, this Thursday.

With the recent release of his ROTF version of "The Touch: Sam's Theme", its uncertain as to which version will be available for play, but given the immense popularity and recognition of the original version, its hard see it being anything other than that.

i'd buy it regardless of version just to support Stan, but i'm hoping for the original.

I don't know, maybe so has the support of more systems. Might be time for an upgrade there.

I just listened to The Touch: Sam's Theme. And it was lame. The original is way better. Here's hoping it's the original!

It should have been on Rock Band, then it wouldn't matter which version it was on.

I bet it's the new version, it seems more than just a coincidence that the new version would come out about the same time it was announced for GH.

I dont have world tour and im sure it wont work for GH:Metallica. Surprised its not for rock band. But back on topic, id be very surprised if its the 80s version. The new movie is around the corner and they want to market the hell out of it so what better way then put a song from it on GH. So im guessing its the new crap version. Hopefully im wrong.

Yeah, the odds are very good that this will end up being the new version.

Maybe when everyone *****es about it being the new crappy version they'll put the old one on Rock Band.
