Well, it's official. My childhood has matured with me.

22oz. Brown bomber, purchased at
The Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, VA, poured into an imperial pint.

Pours a mostly clear orangish amber. Two fingers of creamy head that holds pretty well. Good lacing.

Plenty of citrus hops, orange, grapefruit, maybe pineapple. Some pine and mint in the back. Healthy dose of thick sticky malts.

Moderate bitterness level due to a overbalancing from the thick, sweet malts. Malts are big and bready some some toasty notes. Hop citrus and pine is a bit subdues but still a major role. Body us full, thick, rich, and chewy.

Chances are even if I was allowed, I'd probably spit it out immediately because I doubt I'll like the taste of alcohol.

Hey Proximus, do you seriously think you can get your hands on that? I'm just the other side of the fence (and an hours drive if I cheat) from you. I'm supposed to be up that way in about 2 weeks so I can snag Editor and bring him down to a 'Con south of Seattle. You can see where I'm going with this right? I think I can squeeze in some side jobs, spring for shipping or whatever (cause I wont actually be crossing the border and it's ify as far as Editor smuggling a full six-pack on a Greyhound to Bellingham) and maybe make something work. I only need to get ahold of 3 bottles. 1 for myself, 1 for my cousin and 1 for the young lady here (Sorry Siren, It'll be clean when it get's to you unless you can REALLY bat your eyelashes well over a PM and I doubt it transfers well in text)

...or you could try to float the empty's out to the Strait of Juan de Fuca but I really don't feel like paddling myself out of Bellingham Bay and off into parts unknown for days looking for bottles. It's just a random, crazy idea.

You know what's funny? I'd actually put an empty bottle of that into my collection.

I don't drink and never will, but I think I'd take a bottle as long as it was cleaned.

I hope you guys don't think I'm an alcoholic or something. In all honesty, I actually very rarely drink anymore.
I got most of that out of my system when I was younger. Maybe 3 or 4 times a year will I go out to a bar with one or two of my older brothers or my cousin (or all of us together) and shoot pool/throw darts and kill several pitchers, but we do it responsibly and rarely. The last time I had 1 beer was when I was doing work at my ex-wifes house and I had one with lunch. I think that was the first beer my kids had actually ever seen me drink. I have a high metabolism and I process beer so quick that drinking to get drunk would be pointless and expensive so I figure "Why bother" (plus it's self destructive and just plain wrong)

But for you guys to be able to enjoy such a cool souvenir (sp?) I am willing to help where I can. Besides, it's summertime and it just sounds good right now. It's been warm where I live.

I have sources and access to some pretty good specialty liquors around here. Haha.."sources". anyway, I will certainly be making some phone calls about it. It was a fellow Vancouverite that brought this to my attention. I'll be getting some details on its availability soon.

Much appreciated. Likewise, I shall be checking around here as there are a few bars that cater towards specialty micro-brews and exclusive, cool stuff like this. I don't know how far they are willing to go to get something like this but considering the popularity of the new movie, I could see this item taking off like wild-fire in the micro-brew circles. I'll look forward to hearing what you come up with. I emailed one of my brothers about this so I'll have an extra set of eyes helping us hunt this down.

Hmm..weird, apparently this beer was also mentioned as one of the answers on "Who wants to be a millionare". That will definately give it some buzz too i'm sure.

I hope you all realize, in the name of peace and prosperity, that large amounts of Hoptimus Prime ale closes the cultural gap. *hickup*.

You have NOOO idea how close I came to just taking this thread downhill in a hurry.

Had I consumed large amounts of Hoptimus Prime Ale I am quite certain that I would not have stopped myself and I would be in deep trouble right now.

However, I welcome the oppurtunity to consume large amounts of this with the Brits and Aussies. (and Canadians)
I must say that cultural gap may be a misnomer. There may be several nationalitites here but I fear the level of actual "culture" is up for debate.
