Phillip Pullman, the author of the novel "The golden compass" has a character who is like the devil called Metatron. :o) Where is Moonscream or StarScream. Okay, I don't know if Hasbro stole the idea or He did.It is loosely based on protestant reformation and Milton"Paradise lost." It gets worst since the character Kidman portrayed in the movie,Mrs Coulter seduces Metatron. It was embarrassing for me to read this book in front of the kids since I would mention the name Metatron and they would correct me saying "no,It is Megatron,Miss." When I got to the chapter where he is seduce and tempted by Coulter. They told me it is Megatron and Starscream especially when it starts to refer to cosmic dust. The series has atheistic tone but when it refers to religion and God and Mary Malone the ex nun.The kids starting saying things like God is Optimus Prime then what is Grimlock,Jesus, and the animated series how Elite-one became a black widow spider.

Ummm, Metatron is an angel who appears in the Talmud. One of the big ones, top of the Qabalistic Tree of Life, I think? He has occasionally been portrayed as the 'dark angel' who wrestled with Jacob, and one of the Watchers. He led the children of Israel through the desert during Exodus and stopped Abraham from sacrificing Isaac in some of his more positive portrayals throughout religious literature.

He's been around for WAY longer than Phillip Pullman AND Hasbro, I'm afraid.

I highly recommend you consider using the information superhighway, such as, say, google or wikipedia, such as here to help resolve your robot/child/spirituality dilemmas.

Oh, and saying it's based on _Paradise Lost_? (Headslap). PL is based on the book of Genesis. Milton was an encyclopedist, but he didn't make anything up--he just recorded what the knowledge was at the time.

HK. Unless, of course, your entire post was a joke. I'm notoriously bad at interpreting internet humor, and it's probably very funny.

Yep. Played brilliantly by Alan Rickman in "Dogma", too.

I don't remember seeing Megatron at any point during that movie.

Lol. XD That's okay.

It is amazing though the number of people who look at the name Metatron and think Megatron. It's a testament to how far Transformers reaches. It amuses me even more in Megaten when Metatron is depicted as a seraphic gundam... Which only further confuses the issue.

That's so much Kaon slag! Metatron has nothing to do with Transformers. He's a powerful Arch Angel of light. King Solomon used to invoke his power during "sorcery" practices. And according to legend he used to be a prophet or patriarch known as Enoch.
