NO bleeding the beast wars

In the beast wars, they were part organic and ate food.Organic organism need food for energy and the nutrients is passed in the blood stream. Not one of the beasts bleed so how did their organic material get its nutrients?

It was probably synthetic like in Terminator. Eating was probably devised as an alternate fuel, which is possible.

I always though it was because they didn't want to freak out kids... and liquid was a lot harder to generate in the early days of CG, actually its still a bit of a pain in the ass now.

To me, they are not organic per say.
It's a synthetic material that can mimic flesh. Eating is just another way to gain energy, the Insecticons did the same.
