I was watching the first episode of masterforce the other day and something clicked when Hawk talked about the pretenders living with the humans. The Destrons were imprisoned for a thousand years or something like that right. That means they had to exist on earth with few other bots (rest of autobots and decepticons still hidden and deactivated at this time). Bomb-Burst/Blood needs to constantly feed to keep active because his shell sonsume so much energy. This means either there were more pretenders on earth at that time or Bomb-Burst could feed on organic life forms as well (I would guess it would be less satisfying). This would also provide a start to the myth of vampires (at least in the transformers universe). I have looked around and can’t find any cannon to support or deny this so I figured I would put it out for debate. Talk amongst yourselves Blood is neither a bomb nor a burst.

Hawk also mentions in the first episode that the Destron Pretenders chose the form of demons since they saw humans as inferior. They all consume energon, but energon can be accumulated by means other than consumption. I do agree that the myths of vampires, and such in this series, could have been influenced by the Destron pretender shells, but if this is the case, then I believe they did a much better job going about it in Galaxy Force. When played out there, the Destrons who were representing of the monster class that Starscream resurrected would simply bring havoc and kill people as they'd done in the past to get locked away, so even if you compare Blood to a vampire in terms of eating them for energon, he could have just been trying to instill fear in humans by killing a few with his bare fangs.

There are also monster legends for Dauros and Gilmer, so I don't really agree with the eating humans aspect (you never actually see him do it in the series). It's a good debate. These are just my thoughts on the subject.

It's a good debate =) I think the thread may do better in the "cartoon and comics" forum than in "general discussion" though. Just a thought.
