As much as I agree with the F-15, I just think the F-22 is damn fine plane.

Armada wasn't bad either.

Using my amazing powers of precognition, I'm going to say that my favorite Starscream *will be* the one based on the F-35 Lightning II. A) it's a HOT plane B) it's got JDAMs potential armament and 4 (count 'em, FOUR) .25 mil cannons. NIIIIIIICEE (swoon).

Since the F-22 is probably going bye-bye, we need to get our Screamer a hot new alt mode, and that's what I say it should be. The 2009 movie had an obsolescent plane (the F-22, to be phased out) and the no-longer-in-use Sikorsky Pave Low. Wouldn't it be nice to have some active military aircraft? Can't be a 'robot in disguise' if you're the only Sikorsky in the sky.

If we have to stick with existing...I do like the F-22 AND the Armada. But Armada Starscream, as a character, is kind of emo and whiney, so I'm going to go with the F-22.

HK, let's NOT make him an A-10, please? (Bleurk).

Ehm, I meant which Starscream was a SR-71 Blackbird (not quite, but one loosely based on the jet).

F-22 movie Starscream ain't so bad, but it's robot form is just too bulky compared to G1.

HK, they may be DISCONTINUING producing the F-22, but the squadrons that are in service as of right now are not going anywhere, so Starscream could easily remain as an F-22.

And the Pave Low is the same model as the CH-53D/E Stallion/Super Stallion (I believe 100% not sure). They aren't replacing the E's with the V-22, just the CH-46 and CH-53D.

I do believe that a V-22 would be a cool alt mode though.

What about a F-117 alt mode? I think that would be decent or even better, Starscream as an AC-130 Specter, that would be awesome! Just not totally believable *cringes fearing HK's retaliation*

BTW, all of the stuff I stated are just things i've read about in the Navy and Marine Corps times, I don't know to much about the whole Air Force things, except the F-22 because, well that has to due with the DoD budget and the MV-22 is replacing the older USMC aircraft listed above.

If anybody else has newer information then please, correct me.

The problem is that it's a ticking clock. Once the manufacturers retool their equipment and lines to make a new aircraft (thus no longer making any NEW F-22s) they will also from that point on be unable to make replacement parts for the F-22. Thus, in a very short time, the F-22s will be forced out due to maintenance issues.

Different armament and night vision systems. Same basic frame. You're right: they're not going to start flying shoeboxes, and there are plenty of Sikorsky copters in service all over the world, but the Pave Low is officially no longer in service in the US.

Are you kidding me? I have cold-shower moments thinking of an AC-130, Decepticon alt mode or not. (How can you NOT love them!?! Artillery + plane = awesome!)

Not sure it would fit Starscream's character: he's supposed to be *fast* and they are...not.

HK, But it would be nice for, say....Thundercracker....(hint)

Honestly, I think the AC-130 is probably the best thing the Air Force has ever thrown out there.

True, the maintence issues that plague F-22's is there, but I still personally think it'll be around awhile longer, or once the DoD gets more money, they'll retool the program and call it the F-22B Raptor II or something crazy like that. Just MHO
