"Illogical Botsterds"

Hey gang! A brief introduction: for just over a year now, I've been making a comic online using my G.I. Joe figures. Occasionally, there are guest stars, such as the Transformers. This week was no different.

I made a comic starring the Transformers, parodying a scene from Inglourious Bastards, which I've reviewed here in case you're interested. Anyway, I thought I'd share this comic with you guys.

If the board cuts it off, you can view the full-sized comic on this page.

Hope you enjoy it!

I haven't seen the movie, but I am guessing this is a pharaphrased speech made by Brad Pitt from Inglourious Basterds, right? And it's pretty damn good. If there was no movie, it would still be plausible, except that Optimus Prime is not a cold-blooded murderer, nor would he ever approve his soldiers to be. Well, before RoTF he didn't anyway.

Yep, I took Brad Pitt's character's monologue and "translated" it. I was aiming more for humour than accuracy to the character... sorta like Hollywood. Ba-dum-pum-ching.

read some older material for a sense of the humor. its a really funny series. The whole Green army men saga was priceless, and the Plastic Gear saga was great.

It's really a clever 'translation'! Very well done!

I think Rodimus's discomfort has to deal with what Tarantino's kind of provoking in his film--that moral equivalency that 'allows' the Good Guys to be vicious and brutal and the audience is supposed to love it, while condemning the violence of the Bad Guys. As Rodimus pointed out, that's a moral point more clearly made with the Bayverse bots. G1 was a little more 'pure' in that respect. So seeing G1 Prime get his killah-face on is a little...unsettling.

But hey, no bad Southron accents, either!

Nice job!

HK, a send up of a send up? sublime.

Well I wasn't really discomforted, I just wanted to point out that maybe instead of Prime and some Autobots, this should have been a conversation between Grimlock and his Dinobots for example. I can totally see them stomping the ever-loving **** out of some Decepticons and loving every second of it. We all know Grimlock isn't a *knight in shining armor* he's more of the *fight fire with fire* type if you know what I mean. Prime was definitely more pure, as kitty said, and squeaky clean. He would never cheat and torture.

I do like the cover, I'm not saying it wasn't well done. It was. Like I said, I haven't seen the movie, but from the previews it seemed Pitt's character wasn't exactly Johnny B. Goode. But keep up the good work, I checked your other stuff out, and I like it. I will be checking back frequently from now on. :)

Sorry, Rodimus. I hope you know I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth.

I think the Grimlock idea is awesome!

Still, the dissonance between G1 Prime and this speech is actually very, very cool. I like it even more after thinking about it for a while. It grows on me.

HK, growing in a good way. Not like a spore mold.

Yeah. Don't let it happen again. :P Don't make me go get Burn.

I think the Grimlock idea is awesome!

I'm kinda hoping if he makes it into TF3 that's what he will be like. I have no problem with Grimlock trashing a few city blocks just to kill a Decepticon. And Grimlock vs. Starscream fght to the death in TF3 = WIN. Grimlock winning, of course.

Well, this is just freaking brilliant. I like how you've done something that many artists haven't, you've made the Robots Human. Why do I think you've made Optimus Prime and his crew human? Well in all honesty, in war, there are no 'Good' guys, everyone is bad because both sides commit merciless murder. Revenge-killing is just as bad as the original killing itself. If it weren't for the perception of Autobots being good and vice versa with Decepticons, Optimus Prime and the Autobots would just be as bad as Megatron and the Decepticons.

Good stuff, I also like how you used 'I want my faces', seeing as Optimus Prime in the Revenge of the Fallen said that to the Fallen, haha.
