Ever feel like Seaspray?

The past couple of day I've been reading through all of the Transformers Mosaics here on Seibertron. There are some good mosaics I saw about Seaspray that really made me feel a connection with him. He seemed to not care what others thought of him, and always like to be in his own little world.

So I feel like I have a lot in common with Seaspray, even though I never really saw him in the cartoons.

So what Transformer can any of you relate to most? Do you feel like the peaceful hippie like Beachcomber? Or are you all about style like Jazz? :-?

Seaspray seemed suffer from Aquaman syndrome , as most water based characters often due. He's far from alone in this as water based character often are situational.(extremely common in the 80s infact.) Unless they have verstaile back up gimmicks they usually result in the format of being a D-C lister till the moment of glory episode comes along where it revolves heavily around a situation thats all about water.

As seen here http://www.lilformers.com/index.php/200 ... mer-force/

Of that picture if you don't recall who those two other characters are.
Galadria of visionaries who turned into a Dolphin, she pretty much existed to counter the bad guys swimmer girl Virulina who turned into a shark. In Dinosaucers the two swimmer characters on both sides were same way. They were benchwarmers 80% of the time besides fighting each other.

There were characters that got alittle more due like Max Ray (guy in same picture.) of Centurions. He was the brains of the trio, so he usually rigged something to Deus ex their way out of a probelm. He'd often use his water based suit in creative ways to give him a larger role. He his main form worked as basic assault trooper, and they usually made it a point make him do something, but Ace McCloud (who was voiced by Neil Ross who also did Springer.) stole the show as air power rules heh.

M.A.S.K. gave their vechiles two forms, so they weren't pidgeon holed into the water episode format to give toys screen time. Namor of marvel comics can fly, and is super fast, so hes super on land or water. Katara of avatar is another successful water character that her powers work long as she has any water avaible not just in it, as her set is more verstaile.

Then Comes a successful water character with in transformers, Depthcharge and Broadside. Depthcharge was out of the same mold as Namor, as he could fly, and ozzed as much bad assness as Dinoobot. He replaced dinobot as the teams badass/crapstir character. He never was limited in combat, though he of course had the moment of glory water episodes. http://www.lilformers.com/index.php/200 ... th-charge/

Broadside was freaking huge, and a triple changer. He did some water based roles, but he was not locked into it as he could turn into a large aircraft, despite supposedly was a F-18 hornet and carrier..talk about scale issues. He one shotted Devastator though in handful of episodes he'd been seen in by transforming into carrier mode in mid air and falling on him. He was big enough fight Combiners.

As for Relateable transformers, I find a couple. I relate to Silverbolt probably the most, both his G1 character and his beast wars incarnation. In G1 I was the protector of my four siblings in same manner he was, and I'm a bit scared of heights, but regularly overcome it. I still love characters who fly as the aerial bots were my favorites from G1.

Beast Wars had 3 characters I related to for different reasons. Silverbolt is a knight in shining armor, and seems end up with bad girls heh. I find myself always with girls with criminal records too haha. They want to corrupt me and I wanna save them.

Rattrap is the smallest of the group, but he's verstaile, resourceful, and a scrapper. I feel like him sometimes, other than I am not nearly pesimistic. (we're gonna die! was practically his catch phrase.) But I too am the runt of the litter when comes my brothers and friends despite being the oldest. I manage get alot of respect as everyone seen what I'm capable of and glad Im on their side.

Dinobot is final of beastwars. I had a dark period in my life and I felt like I had make things right. I was a bit violent and short tempered during it, but I usually kept it in control. I think I'm more like Silverbolt nowdays, but when I first saw beast wars I completely empathized with Dinobot.

To a degree I relate to Optimus Prime. I have probably prime's suicidal tendencies to put him in harms way about himself, as I got put in situation few months back where I just felt like I had do something really dangerous to protect a family member. During it I didn't think of myself the entire time, but was kind of shook up afterwards. A cause outweights my own safety, which i know prime looks at life in a simliar way. (though I try not die as often as he does.)

Hot Rod, I can relate to, as much as I hated Rodimus Prime as a kid.(and collectively the 86 movie for killing alot of my favorite characters.) I kind of sympathize with Hot Rod now as he was left with such massive shoes fill(this character was doomed to be hated the moment he was shoehorned into role of Prime, as Hot rod he was fine.), and I can understand how someone could buckle question themselves alot under such burden. My dad kind of always tells me what an idiot I am, and tells too many stories in same manner Kup does heh. But like Hot Rod (or Animated Prime.) I feel like I'm coming into my own.

Sorry for the very longwinded answer. But I hope that answers your question heh.

TL:DR version: I don't relate to Seaspray, but both Silverbolts G1 and Beast wars.

I don't feel like Seaspray, but the character that I relate most too is probably Thundercracker. I feel that inwardly he is a good guy, but is buffeted by negative influences (Megatron and Skywarp) that keep him from acting on those inherant impulses. And basically that is me as a Christian. I want to do good, but all to often I do things that I shouldn't. I have negative personality traits like he does, which I have to work on.

I always related best to Ironhide. When something needs to be done, I want it done quickly and in the most efficient way possible. I also see things as very black or white. There is not a lot of grey area with me.

I have worked on sites where I felt very Starscream-like towards my boss. :CON: Although on most jobs I can feel more empathy with Long Haul.

I've empathized with Seaspray before. But there's a lot of characters I can relate to at varying intervals. Dinobot, Rattrap, Shockwave, Optimus, Rodimus, Starscream, Perceptor, Tarantulas. I could keep going?

sideswipe or sunstreaker. me and my brother always been fighters. good for the most part but there is that dark side lurking. ive always felt that if you need to get it done do it by whatever means nesisary(sp?) and there is always that rivalry between us. goes farther than most brothers i know.

a friend read the dw comic where they sluaghtered the insecticons and jazz said they were cold fueled. he said that was us. not sure if he meant it as a compliment or not but i took it as one. brother wanted to fight him though.. lol

Although I'm not a huge fan of the character I would say I'm most like Starscream. I'm just waiting for that perfect opportunity...

I like the idea of a flying aircraft carrier altmode (with optional warpdrive). Flying ships are a very prevalent theme in the slightly fantastic animation that Transformers falls smack in the middle of, and with Cybertronian technology it's completely feasible to have something looking like an Earth aquatic vessel and yet still be able to float and be spaceworthy.

If Broadside had been given that general approach, he could have had a much more prominent role. Not to mention that his jet mode would have allowed him to shrink down and mix it up one-on-one with the Decepticons to break him out of pure transport/base roles.

I get laughed at a lot by my friends because for better or for worse, I like Aquaman.

Seaspray does have some flaws, I admit. He's not great on land, and he frequently gets sidelined for it but personally I think about the world he's able to explore! Like Depth Charge, he can explore the ocean reefs and provides an important role for the Autobots. If you have a mission on land, chances are one of the leader Autobots will be in charge of the mission but in the sea? You go with the bot who is built for it! I even like the Movie verse Depth Charge, where he's the wise old soldier who is one of the sole guardians of the trench where the Decepticon bodies are buried. He doesn't get on land that often but he's big enough to take care of himself and the naval forces around him.

If I had to relate to a transformer though, I'm probably closer to Wreck-gar or Wheeljack. People look down on me but when they need either my technical expertise, repair skills, or my people skills I'm able to leap in to save the day despite getting none of the credit. :P

That and I've always thought that the Junkions had the coolest power, since they could fix themselves.

I just mean as Broadside in his aircraft mode didn't look much like a F-18 Hornet. He looked more like a shuffle of sorts, as the airbots got carted around by him, or rode on the outside of him in a few episodes. He otherwise suffered from Taxi service roles as astrontrain often did. (along with Sky lynx, Omega supreme, and Sky/jetfire did in G1.)

Reminds me of Planetside, where I enjoyed flying Galaxy transports and taking troops into battle. Course, you never see any of the transformers just hanging out with the transport guys. Did you ever see Omega Supreme or Sky Lynx at a party with the others? Did Bumblebee hang out with Broadside? In the ROTF toyline, it seems like Depth Charge has a pretty lonely job despite having all those US Navy guys around. :P

Still, when push comes to shove you need the specialists to get a job done! :APPLAUSE:

Hm... . I'm not sure... . I think I'm a bit like G1 Prowl. I try to solve problems the tactical way and watch over my friends and family ^_^

Hm... . Sometimes my bro says that I have much of Ratched too, but don't know why o.O'
