A new listing has been posted over at Amazon.com for what may be a movieverse related hardcover book for the Transformers.

Transformers: Exodus, authored by Alex Irvine and published by Del Rey Books, is the latest known addition to Transformers literature. Not much is known on what the book will actually be based on, but given the publishers previous release of the Tranformers Movieverse prequel book Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday, we can only assume that it will somehow fit in between the end of Revenge of the Fallen and beginning of Transformers 3 (Official Title not yet known).

Details that are available for the book are as follows:

* Hardcover: 352 pages
* Publisher: Del Rey (June 22, 2010)
* Language: English
* ISBN-10: 034551985X
* ISBN-13: 978-0345519856
* Shipping Information: View shipping rates and policies
* Amazon.com Sales Rank: #126,795 in Books (See Bestsellers in Books)

I don't think this is going to be a prequel at all. Both prequels to this point have been release only in paperback form and couple months before the movies. I'm wondering if Transformers may be the latest sci-fi property to move into the novel realm ala Star Wars and Star Trek. At 352 pages, that's a big book too. It may actually take me a couple days to read it...

The big question is: which continuity are we looking at? My best guess is the movieverse due to its current popularity.

Well, I don't reckon it's set after Revenge because the other 2 have been done by another writer and it's too early for a release. I wouldn't be surprised, considering its title, if it's set back during the exodus of Cybertron and goes into the details of what happened at that time etc (maybe).

I remember reading a G1 novel about 6 or so years ago (during the Dreamwave run) which had a sequel (I think). It could be tied in with that continuity or, as suggested above, in with the movie continuity.

There was a trilogy based on the Dreamwave continuity released years ago, and it wasn't too bad. if this new book is based on anything other the movieline I'm all for it and will probably buy it. If it's movie based then epic fail.

Based on the movie does not always mean epic fail. Let's face it, it's better to have a book than the movie because Michael Bay can't get involved. So the book has more potential upside than the writing in the movies. And let's face it, our brains are better at special effects than ILM... 8)

Well I've read the first movie adaption and the ROTF prequel and the ROTF adaption and have to say....ehhh the straight adaption books don't really provide anything new, and the prequel book I read for ROTF had ZERO impact on the movie. It provided no real new backround and little connection to either movie.

That being said it wasn't a bad book, like that god aweful trilogy they did a few years back, it just...was sorta there.

Personally go grab the IDW trades prequels and sequels much better stuff.
