The fine folks across the pond at Transformers @ The Moon have posted an update to the United States Patent and Trademark Office applications for Hasbro Inc.

The latest update is for a new name:

AIRACHNID

No other information on the application is available, but we'll keep you posted on any changes in the filing. Check out the information by clicking here.

Airachnid? So, a flying spider? Possibly a beast triple-changer? Who know?

Edit: Oh, I just frightening thought. Blackarachnia X Airrazor. :P Fembot on fembot action somehow resulting in a freak of nature.

Sounds like an interesting Triplechanger. Possibly a type of monster?

Cool name, it really has Transformer written all over it, that forced, awkward kind of sound, that eventually grows on you. My favorite Transformer name is the unfortunate combination of Wind Charger and Trail Breaker, the one and only WIND BREAKER! http://www.tfu.info/1993/Autobot/Windbreaker/windbreaker.htm (in case you think I'm joking), they had fun with that one!

Sounds like they're trying to drum up multiple phobias. Up next: Thundersnake and Needlegerm!

Are we certain that this isn't for GI Joe? I can see this being some kind of vehicle.

ok, honestly, I have no idea what this means. I'm guessing their either changing their own name from Hasbro to Airachnid or their checking to see if the nem's available, then put it on a new Transformers figure that's most likely going to be the first ROTF triple changer and it will transform from plane to spider to robot. Whew, that was long... :-?

That's what I'm thinking. Or maybe a parachute shoots out from the rear, instead of just your average webline(like Tarantulas). Or maybe some kind of web propulsion system, similar to the Graboids from Tremors 3:
