Hello Everyone!

I just finished a song about my most favorite childhood heroes, The Transformers. I'm trying to determine the best way of getting it out to all fans who want to hear it, and one of the search results was Seibertron.com.

Could anyone give me some advise as to what the best locations for "publishing" my new song will be? I plan on making a tribute video to accompany the song and post it to youtube.com and vimeo.com. I will also post the song on my personal website and other Indie recording artist sites like soundclick, reverbnation, and mixposure.

This song has been a long time coming, and comes straight from the heart. It's a reflection of the energy and spirit of the 80s G1 Transformer era, in the tradition of "The Touch" and "Dare".

At the moment I think the best way to publish a song is to get it up on youtube, or myspace or somewhere like that.

The song is finished and my hope/intention was to create a video comprised of G1 episodes and the original Transformers Movie footage, but I am very concerned about the copyright implications.

Do you or other seibertron users know much about using Transformer footage for personal video projects?

A video would certainly make this song uber-epic, but I don't want to do anything that will compromise the law.

You wouldn't be the first to cut the G1 episodes and add new audio to them. So long as you're not making a profit off of it, then I don't think Hasbro would object.

I did some research and found an article about "fair use" of copyright material.

Unless I get direct permission from the copyright holder, I will probably just post the song by itself.

Thank you. If your PSP can play MP3 files, you can download the MP3 from my website. As far as the video is concerned, I've only posted it to youtube and don't have any other format available to view. Does that answer your question?

Sir {sorry, I assume you're male, hope I'm right } this song is great. Nice use of effects, good rhythms and interesting rhymes! Professional sound on the productions side as well. A great thing all round.

Hello Mykltron, Yes, sir works well for me!

Thanks for the comment on production and song-writing. This was a "labor of love" so a lot of heart and childhood nostalgia went into it.

Transformers are just that awesome!
