Good evening (haha, Alfred Hitchcock moment)...
I'm curious (and bored), so I wanna know some of your favorite characters from G1 My favorite 'bot is Jazz, and my favorite 'con is Skywarp.
Okay, now that I've made a topic, I'd like to get some posts on it. If you've seen some of my others, you know I like hearing opinions, so please let me know.

Top 5 in no partial order

Autobots

1. Silverbolt, One of the characters I relate to the most. I'm afraid of heights, but love jets, and have watch out for my 4 siblings. I wanted the autobots get a combiner team, and they thrilled me to pieces when the aerialbots arrived. They were awesome looking, and one of the greatest combiner teams as Superion, as they have the best record of all Combiners/giant robots. (Beast wars Silverbolt also a huge fav of mine. I'm hoping Movie Silverbolt continues the legacy of awesomeness.)

2. Skyfire , Skyfire (Jetfire) just looked awesome, and was one of the autobots earliest heavy hitter besides Prime. He was also the first character to switch sides giving some complexity to him.

3. Optimus Prime, The Superman of my generation. An iconic hero, who just was this unstoppable force of good. He often said quite inspirational things.

4. Jazz, He was one of the first toys I got from G1(I think my very first was Windcharger), so I really latched on to him as a character. Sadly my toy suffered a similar fate as the 2007 movie Jazz when I transformed him incorrectly.

5. Ironhide, The autobots veteran strong man, he took quite a beating and kept going.Always willing put himself in harms way protect his friends. He never stopped fighting till he went off line.

Decepticons

1. Starscream, At first I got a book for transformers before I saw the show(and a lunch box which i still have.), which I always thought Jets were awesome, which I loved screamers color scheme. Which even his name sounded cool. I was disappointed when I found out he was a bad guy and his high pitched voice intially turned me off, but his character pulled me back in as his dynamic between him and Megatron was always interesting.

2. Swindle, of all combaticons, Swindle stole the show.(likely why he was one Combaticon return in animated.) His crazy greed and smart alec personality made him fun watch. Despite B.O.T. being deemed one of the worst episodes, I enjoyed it alot solely for sake of Swindle being spotlighted.

3. Megatron, Despite being a ruthless tyrant, he always believed himself be a patriot of cybertron. You could see why the decepticons saw him as a hero, despite being evil, as his men loved him besides Starscream, who envied him instead. When push came to shove he had some sense of honor, as he helped save cybertron and the earth on a few occasions. He was still a bastard, but one you could respect and understand on some level.

4. Wildrider, The stunticons were rockstars of the Decepticons. They d rather go wreck stuff than listen to authority. I have a hard time deciding which I want to list as they all are awesome as they re one of my favorite special teams collectively. Wildrider is ultimately the epitome of what the Stunticon's represent. His trademark aerial attacks and total disregard for anything are first thing I think of when I think stunticons.

5. Soundwave, The trinity of the decepticons is what made them. You could remove all rest and replace them with anything else, these 3 were the constant, and what held together their organization. Starscream, Megatron and Soundwave. Soundwave and his cassette tapes(I consider them a package deal.) were easily Megatron's most loyal and productive minions. I can't imagine how poorly they d fair without them.

I could easily gone higher but I figure I'll keep it brief. Was hard just to narrow it to 5.

Also Galvatron. Megatron was awesome and pimpish in his own right, but Atleast tf's ADMITTED Galvatron was insane.

Giant Purple Griffin... Really, no one questioned Megatrons sanity on this? GTFO of here with your Giant Purple Griffin. Atleast Galvatron was the blow up everyone kinda insane. You didn't see Galvatron messin with no flyin purple griffin.

Really? No one thought about gettin Megs committed to a padded room for this one? WTF? is this operating on the the "Dinosaurs have small brains so I made the Dinobots dumb" logic?

Haha, I loved the kremzeek episode. I liked how he got Jazz twice with that animation error.

I'd list a heap from the japanese series but I'm a bit tired right now.

Ok, I'm gonna give a more detailed list.
Top 5 Autobots: Jazz (I've been a Jazz fan since the first time I ever saw him. Probably the biggest reason I like him is the fact that he adds a little style to everything he does, which is something I tend to do as well.)

Blaster (I'm a huge music fan and I play several instruments. That being said, it's obvious that I'd be able to relate pretty well to this guy.)

Sideswipe (Sideswipe is a great character, and I'm pretty sure my favorite scenes are when he tackles Starscream and threatens to beat him up, because I have a friend [who I just happen to call Screamer] that gets on my nerves sometimes. I've never really hit him or anything, but I'm big enough to just scare him into being quiet. )

Bluestreak (I've been a big fan of Scooby Doo for as long as I can remember, so being voiced by Kasey Kasem is a huge contributing factor. I like his alternate mode [and the paint job is my favorite of the three 280ZX's], and he has pretty much the same personality as Shaggy, who is another favorite cartoon character of mine.)

Optimus Prime (I'm gonna make this one short. C'mon... who DOESN'T like the big guy? )

Okay, top 5 Decepticons: Skywarp (Being somewhat of a comedian and pulling pranks is something I can also relate to. Classic pranks or crazy new ideas, I love it all.)

Starscream (Once again, who doesn't love this guy? He's just that cool.)

Shrapnel (Hahahahahaha, my favorite of the insecticons, I like how he always repeats the last word of each sentance. Eating anything in sight and commenting on the taste is just plain awesome.)

Soundwave (Soundwave is great because of... well... I'm not really sure why, but he's just such an iconic character, and always had a good role in the show that he's made it to #4 on my list of 'cons.)

Shockwave (The fact that he's always willing to follow orders and thinks things through makes him a great soldier. I always thought he was cool and sitting around doing pretty much nothing while everyone else is somewhere else? Hahaha, I think we've all experienced this a time or two.)

Nightbeat

Top 5:

1. Reflector. The lovable background filler/punching bag. Can't help but to feel sorry for him. Plus his toy continuouslly eludes me.

2. Motor Master: His big, mean, tough, awesome voice...like John Goodman would be if he had an ounce of evil in him.

3. Sludge: So stupid it's funny. I also think it's wonder that in the movie he's one of the few Autobots who actually kills a decepticon, a sweep, and later in a season 3 episode actually calls a Sweep 'dumb' Where does he get off calling anyone dumb?

4. Starscream: Something about shady usurpers...

5. Trailbreaker: Awesome force shield power and more of aredneck than Ironhide. I loooong for the day of a spotlight for him.

Hmm... This is always such a difficult question for me!

Well, the characters that spring to my mind instantly are Dead End, Wildrider, and Silvebolt.

No doubt others will eventually pop into my head, so when that happens, I'll just edit this post.
