By the way, I'm number 24, and I got into Wednesday's class.
Woot!
On a side note, everyone check your confirmation page, and print it out!
Mine was missing my screenname, phone number area code, and had "Mastercard" listed instead of "Visa". I had to call them to fix them.
BOTCON REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

I am so pissed! The email letting everyone know that Botcon registration was open was sent to me at 1:54pm, but apparently there was an open link to the registration way before that. Possibly as early as 12:30pm and certain people were tipped off to this fact! So I registerd around 2pm and was still number 1033 and I was only able to get the Wednesday class, but I can't take the Wednesday class ( I arrive around 5pm on Wednesday!)! So now I'm totally screwed! I either need to change my flight and come a day earlier to Florida, and stay up all night because I don't have a place to stay until Wednesday evening or cancel taking the Wednesday class.
What happened to members getting first dibs like they said before! Our membership and passwords should have given us access to a members only registration ahead of everyone! This sucks!
Anyone who has a Thursday class want to trade with me? Please message me here and let me know! Thanks!

Is it just me or is their registration site super slow? The other thing that's really frustrating is that the timer keeps timing out before i can input my credit card information. I'm on my 3rd try.

Also, for those concerned about duplicate confirmation numbers, Pete@Botcon just posted this at TFW:
Pete@Botcon wrote:The numbers you have received do not have any effect on your order being processed. They are only for use for the system. However, they are sequential. So, anyone with the number 1038 or below are in the first 100.

Not wanting to worry anyone, but did I read things right and see that TWO people here have had the same invoice numbers for their bookings?
I would say that if that is the case then these invoice numbers certainly don't seem to bear any relation to ticket numbers and if their online booking system is generating duplicate invoice numbers on day one, and others have had their credit card details recorded incorrectly or other information missing on their statements, then there may be some other problems with the system that still haven't been ironed out yet.
I *really* do hope it is sorted out behind the scenes and that these are one-off glitches, because at this late stage, any major problems now will make things really difficult for BotCon to recover without having to bring in a lot of extra support staff.

That's super cool that it was posted on one website.
You know...
instead of in an email to all the club members.
What.
Ever.

Yeah, I was reading all the threads about the registration on all the major web sites. I figured Pete was gonna stop by, but thought I'd speed up the process and post it here.
So since ya went to TFW, Allspark, and TFClub first, does that mean you were saving the best for last?

Just had a further thought on this... If a system is generating identical invoice numbers for its own internal use, won't this cause problems later if anyone has queries and needs to get in touch and quote these numbers back to BotCon?
When anyone registers for Auto Assembly, I can trace an attendee by their online transaction reference and the ticket number that is allocated to them as soon as they book and their confirmation email telling them of their ticket numbers will be their secondary record of the transation as well as their payment receipt. That gives international attendees added peace of mind that their bookings are safe and not having to worry incase passes don't arrive in time... and we even have contingency plans in place for those eventualities or for late bookings.
Either way though, our system is basic, limited in terms of the technology behind it, but it's worked very well for the last 5 years we have been offering online bookings and so far we have never double-booked any tickets or had confusion over ticket numbers.
I would hope that BotCon has another quick way of identifying bookings from other methods from the online system in the event of queries or the system could cause them a few headaches

Sorry for being snarky and I appreciate you coming by.
I still think that important info like that should be sent out in an official capacity.

Anyone hear anything about email confirmation? I accidentally closed the window so I don't know what number I am :\ Also, I sincerely hope they took into account mailing times. Since I'm driving from CA to FL, I REALLY don't want to get on the road only to find out my registration papers came two days later.

Damn, I didn't get into the custom class. I wanted that so bad, especially for my first Botcon.

I thought I was vigilant...anyone care to share their secret that led to instant victory?
