Transformers Collectors' Club Punch/Counterpunch and BotCon 2011 Updates

We just received this quick email from Brian Savage from the Transformers Collectors' Club:

Brian wrote:I hope you are all having a great summer!

Here are the latest updates:

Punch Counter/Punch is still not here from China. We will not be taking new orders until he arrives sometime in August. That way your order will ship the same week as when you place it. We will send out an email when the item goes into the store. If you have ordered this in the past, do not order another as we will cancel your order minus a cancellation processing fee. Also, you will be limited to 1 per person. If you order more than one, we will cancel your entire order minus a cancellation processing fee. You must be a member in good standing to order this figure. We will have approximately 300 new pieces (we need to hold some back for possible damage).

We have signed a second hotel agreement for BotCon 2011 with the Pasadena Hilton (3 blocks from the convention center) and you can go to BotCon.com to make your hotel reservation. Please let us know if you have any issues.

Thanks for your support and keep it cool in the heat!

Brian

I was gonna ask why he'd say "We will not be taking new orders until he arrives sometime in August" until I hit the quote button and read the later part of that paragraph. I feel like it was written badly; he should have announced he was getting the 300 new figures to begin with, then explained about taking new orders in August when they come and only being able to order 1 once you can. Glad people that have already ordered can't order again, though. That gives other people that missed out before a fair shot at getting this one.

stupid question but can you still order CP if you arent a member?

if so does anyone remember the difference in price?

EDIT - never mind, just looked it up, $59 for memebers, $99 for non members

Wont be able to order another one then? Dang.

Wish I hadn't left the box laying around while I was taking pictures. Friggin cat scratched the hell out of it. And that was the best part of P/CP.

Didn't expect they'd even get another wave though. What with not having heard from them about it since late March (I think).

Hey. Maybe this will bring the price on ebay down a little bit, so I wont feel so bad about it.

P.S.
Are we supposed to be sending complaints to a new e-mail address or what?
I sent Angie Morris a message about Dion's feet a month ago, then sent another message last week, and I still haven't gotten a reply.

Actually you can't really buy it unless you're a member. If you buy it without becoming a member first, they charge you an extra forty bucks and make you a member.

I was wondering the same thing, had hoped to renew my membership just to order CP. Hopefully they will be letting new members order one.

He is going for around $170 on ebay. Damn...this is making it very tempting for me to scalp him. I haven't opened mine yet...I like him (from the pictures I have seen) but I don't know if I like him $170 worth. :-?

Is there a listing, still? I haven't been able to find it. I remember the original pre-order selling out rather fast. (That's why it's gonna be limit one with people that already ordered unable to do so again, IMO.)

It will be worth it, if you want the guy. Since, right now on ebay he's going for double that.

Personally, I don't like him. Regardless of what people tell me, I still think the head could have been a bit bigger, even more so if they had designed the visor differently. And the face was painted yellow after it had already been painted silver, for no apparent reason.

It just doesn't feel like much thought was actually put into him.

Still, I wont be selling him because, A: he was the whole reason I joined the club, and B: the box got damaged anyway.

They should. The only people that are being blocked from ordering the new batch have either bought one, or have one coming that hasn't shipped yet. (Not quite sure which, because I think some people have gotten theirs already, but I kinda read it as the latter because a new order is supposed to cancel both orders... if I understand it right...)

The rules are like this:

1. If you have purchased Punch/Counterpunch already (first batch) you are not allowed to purchase one from the second batch.

2. If you think they won't reallize that you bought one already and try to buy 1, you will have your order canceled and you will be charged a fee for being annoying.

3. If you have not purchased 1 yet, you can purchase 1. Just 1.

I had called the hotel yesterday and was told that the Pasadena Hilton was 2 miles from the convention center but that complimentry transportation would be available to anyone who reserved at the discount price. Is 3 blocks really 2 miles or did the person make a mistake telling me this ??? Somebody who went to the last Botcon in Pasadena might know. Please advise...

That's pretty much how I'd read it. Thanks for clearing it up, though.
