Should there be more Dinobots?

Of the 5 original Dinobots, 1 seems to be fully ignored and one more at least partially ignored for I-don't-know-what-reasons (I'm sure there was method to the madness). (There are 3 original and 2 follow up only according to the G1 cartoon and not necesarily according to the Hasbro design process, and I don't consider Tf:Animated to be anything other than a buzz-generating presence between RotF and TF3, tho it contributed to Transformation tech nicely!!).

In Beast wars there were several Protoforms-to-Dinosaurs and a Dinobot per say, who at one point has an outstanding, outlandish, undescribably awesome Dinosaur skeleton type Altmode.

Another Dinobot and 4 drones appear in Power core Combiners.

There is a Dinobot island and a Jungle planet where the overall 'Dinobot population' could elect to live.

So, should there be more Dinobots? Proper, in-scale Dinobots? Should they be of the Beast Wars 'flesh' design? The G1 uniform design? Should there be a crew of skeletal-style Dinobots? Should they be existing Transformers with yet another alternate reality or just proper, old fashioned Dinobots with all the proper, old fashioned Dinobot attitude and muscle? Should they be part of a spin off series immune to alternate reality Frankensteinism or part of one specific reality (risky?), or constantly regurgitated into whichever reality? Should the comics be allowed to play with their backstory, or should Hasbro/Takara chisel it out in marble once and for all?

I would love to see an Ankylosaur, Trilobyte, Velociraptor pack (at least 3), and anything in Skeletal version.NO Power core combiners or minicons, tho, it's a waste of otherwise good contributions to the TF multiverse (for a Dinobot line).

I would HATE to have them split into a "good" and "evil" faction. It would be heartbreaking to me to have to display Dinobots with different faction symbols. I'd prefer either two uniforms of the same mould, (Gold+Grey Dinobot, Black+whatever Deceptisaur) or else two neutral/chaotic factions (King Grimlocks' "We,Dinobots" and Skeletoid Dinobots'Transmetal Mercenaries.IN SCALE, with mini bots for minisaurs and supreme bots for supreme saurs.I see zero reason to frag the scale.Dinosaur species findings have quadrupled since 1984.

If necessary, they could even have THEIR OWN variation of a Trypticon/Omega Supreme style home bot. I strongly suggest each be a new character and they start off in a location that is immunized from existing storytelling craziness.Let them slowly meet other TF groups, and, as I've said elsewhere, decide whether or not they care or want to get involved.Leave a story open ended to revisit later, I say, rather than Rehash it again and again (and again).

We have the capability to ask Hasbro/Takara for something like this. Do we want something like this? Are we, the fanbase EVOLVED enough to ask for something like this? Please use this thread to hammer it out. There's a new continuity coming up. Do we want to suggest a sideline Dinobot range to Hasbro/Takara? SHOULD WE stick our noses into their business? It doesn't have to be part of any other story, but I'd prefer them to sprout from the G1 'Father tree', that is, call them 'Grunge','Destrier' and 'Doubleback' rather than 'Megazilla gold General','Spinezilla Silver General Gold' and 'Challenge Destrier Commander Hope-Avatar'.

After about 20 replies (if this post gets'em), I request of everyone to revisit and see what the general vibe is. If folks feel the general vibe is conducive of a recommendation for a "Dinobot Island" line (or not) please tell me. If I feel enough people agree I might try to organize a petition amongst the community-a Formal one through the whole Mod command chain and everything.Let me know what to do.

Thanks for reading. Thanks twice for replying. Thanks thrice for revisiting. Thanks, like, quadrumply, for being a TF fan in the first place.LOL.

Have fun!!!!!!!

If there's ever a TF MMO, I want a Dinobot Island, if not a Beast/Jungle Planet for them to occupy, with multiple alt-modes being available. Personally, I love "transmetal" robotic versions of animal alt-modes so I'd prefer that style, but BW "fleshy" types can be good too, I suppose. A female Dinobot or two wouldn't go amiss. I imagine her kind of like Wonder Woman or Big Barda, a warrior woman, a valkyrie, a kick-ass take no names, kill first and don't ask questions killer that always does the right thing, unless something not-right needs done.

Oh yeah, Paddles!

...I'd still prefer to buy a Generations Slag first.

when I was a kid I used to have Dinobot fight alongside my G2 Grimlock and Slag as a kind of honary Dinobot

I could never understand him...

They could always have generations Long neck guy and retool him into Paddles...

Anyhow...I kinda like the original gang+Paddles...course, WheelJack could always build a few more, but I'd prefer if it didn't get too big.
Though Ankylosaurus and Raptors would be cool, along with I don't know, a Spinosaurus or something else cool....

For Grimlock to argue with.

Paddles I don't want to think about him...honestly I don't! I always thought Dinoforce(masterforce), Dinobot(beast wars), and Magmatron(BW Neo, BM I think), Terrorsaur(BW) where all Decendents of the original Dinobots. Oh there's the Beast....Okay we wanted a Dinobot combiner but, not that...not that High Octane Nightmare Fuel. I know there is a great Dinobot combiner custom somewhere on this site.

As to Dinobot Island play set...I may buy something like that.

Have a look at these.

http://10fingersdesigns.com/3d/autobots18.htm#slam

This site does some amazing work in both capturing classic G1 characters and creating new ones.

Slam and Slash are great names for these guys.

Of course I'd love Cruellock repainted in the G1 Dinobot colours as Tyrannitron.
