Stan Bush, best know to Transformers fans for the songs "The Touch" and "Dare" from the original 1986 Transformers: The movie, has put up a message to his fans on his MySpace Blog. the following has been taken directly from his blog.

"Major TRANSFORMERS Update... coming soon.

Stan Bush here.

Thanks for all of the kind words, you guys are the best. As you know I did submit a song to the producers of the new Transformers movie, and while it may not be represented on the soundtrack... Perhaps they will still feature one of my *other* songs somewhere in the film...

I would personally like to thank Brian Goldner, all of Hasbro, and the legions of G1 Transformers fans for helping me get a shot. Not to mention Seibertron.com, Tformers.com, and all of the other great fan sites.

The new album "IN THIS LIFE" is completed and is garnering rave reviews over in Europe and Japan. The official North American release date is 7.3.7. I am releasing this new album with two exclusive TRANSFORMERS tracks (including the song I submitted for the TRANSFORMERS film) through my label LA Records. Details will be coming very soon (as will MP3 samples).

This site will also be changing very soon. Look for the official STANBUSH.COM to be launching this month! Of course this MySpace page will not be going anywhere. It's served a great purpose of communication with everyone here.

Expect more. Very soon.

Until that day... Til All Are One!

Sincerely,
Stan Bush".

Hm. Would like to hear the songs. I wonder what good ol' Stan Man's sound is like 20 years later... Should be good.

He makes it sound like one of his older TF songs will get a little snippet somewhere in the movie.....maybe The Touch playing on a boombox?

This is a true Transformer fan. He doesn't let a crappy soundtrack reject him without getting the last laugh.

I'm more than a bit upset they didn't use Stan's new song on the soundtrack. I think I'll order his new CD. I wonder what he sounds like now?
Anyway, it would be nice if they had "The Touch" or "Dare" in the background in one scene.

I'll take his old school TF theme over Goo Goo Dolls any day.

Uh, yeah, he did do his version of the theme song. It's in the soundtrack rerelease. Thanks for playing.

sounds great to me. I hope he gets a shot in the movie, and of course even if he doesn't I'm still gonna buy the album.

Actually Stan Bush DID do a version of the Transformers theme song for the cartoon movie. It was not used in the cartoon movie, however: they instead went with Lion. However, Stan's version does appear on the 20th anniv. version of the soundtrack, and had previously appeared on a botcon CD.

I should know, for I used his version on the end credits of my War Within cartoon. To hear it, go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRO-dZJE ... er&search=

Actually, Stan did do a version of the theme. It was arranged by Vince DiCola and is known as the “alternate theme”. It differs quite a bit from the Lion version, and never made it into the film. It is featured on the Botcon TFTM score CD and is the last track on the new re-release of the soundtrack.

Anyway, I bought the Italian import of “In this Life” on eBay. It rocks! If the US version has 2 new tracks, then I’ll buy it again just for them!

Professor Smooth, Stand Bush DID write and perform the alternate, aka "rejected" Transformers theme song for the 1986 movie. Lion just got the final nod.

I have it as an MP3 if you don't believe me.

Let's just keep it civilized, okay everyone?

Wow, I'd like to see that with some voiceovers. It looked pretty damn cool.

Thanks--I've got a post for the project under the kitbash/artwork forum, but for those interested I'm still looking for people to play Grimlock, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Kup, Trailbreaker, Jazz, Skids, Hound, and Tracks.
I'm still accepting submissions for the other characters as well, but there's a lot more competition on the others.

(back on topic)

Stan's had quite a few CDs since TF (15 I think?), but his basic sound hasn't changed--which can be good and bad. The good is that his songs all sound like they came from the 80s. The bad is that they STILL sound like they come from the 80s. It's his strength and weakness.

Although I don't have the US version of his latest album, he's done a few good songs on the version of In This Life that I've got.

It will probably be waaaaaayyyy better than the new theme on the soundtrack.

I heart Stan Bush.
