Ive been doing some Robotech research as wel as my transformers stuff when a quandry that i wished to share with my fellow seibertronians ( i already wish to appologise if this is in the wrong forum but i felt as though this disscusion shouldnt clutter up the other boards that have bigger tussels to argue then my little question) so anyhoo back to my question. Who would be victorious in combat between the Skull Squadron ( for all intents and purposes lets say that this is when Rick Hunter was the Skull Leader) and the G1 seekers?
Me, I think the seekers would win becuase they arent limited to human weaknesses such as blacking out and sucombing to G-Forces and each of them have a special power to use ...that beign sadi though I still think that Rick and his Skulls would put up a good fight making the Seekers earn thier victory but that me.

I'd say Seekers.....they have their own bodies to control, where as the Skull Squadren are human pilots in transforming mecha. The SS would have a disadvantage of a slight reaction delay, as well as manipulating the controls to pulls of their actions. Also, Seekers's bodies can take a trahsing, and we seen Veritechs blow apart rather easily in combat....possilbly an indication that earth metals are inferior.....as the steel bars in that early G1 episode in the South American mountians with the crystal of power weapon.

I have to vote for the Seekers too, but I'd hope that the Skulls would bail out before they die (well, the named members anyway, who cares about extras!)

Skulls.
Starscream is the only seeker with enough combat cleverness to overcome human ingenuity. All of the other seekers are too locked into their idiosyncrasies to prevail in a prolonged dogfight.

I'd actually put some money on the Skulls. Couple reasons. First of all, according to the Robotech background materials in both novels and RPG, the standard RDF helmet is a brain imager that does most of the work of controlling the veritech. This means reaction times would be almost as fast as any Cybertronian (In the cartoons, Cybertronians seem to react at human speeds). Second reason: missiles. LOTS and LOTS of missiles. The Seekers are limited to hand to hand blasters and relatively short range body mounted lasers; the VFs have six lasers (4 head, 2 body) plus the GU cannon--and missiles. If we grant the Skulls a Booster FASTPack, this means 40 more missiles and a standoff range equal to the F14 fighter the Valk is based on (200mi). If we give them the Strike Valkyrie FASTpack, they get the missiles PLUS a twin beam cannon. Third reason: LOTS AND LOTS OF Valkyries. Kind of like fighting the original G1 Jetfire, cloned. So in summary; if they brought more VFs to the party and got in the first long range strike, it could be quite a party.

The seekers have missles, at least Starscream does.
Look at this screen cap from Fire On The Mountain...

If sides were even, I think the Seekers would probably pull a victory, seeing as how they are a jet and would have much better reaction time.
But one thing that would be taken into consideration in a prolonged battle would be that the Skulls have a slight advantage. If they get an arm blown off, they can just go on. If a Seeker gets an arm blown off, well they'd probably have a lapse in movement cause of all the pain they'd be in, and that would be an oppertune time to strike. Dirty, but the Skulls could pull a victory that way.
It's been awhile since I seen Robotech(Macross saga only, never got the other two), but I think I've added two variables to consider.
