NO. The Dinobots don't need to combine. They are awesome enough that they can stand on their own. They never had a need to combine in the old series and they don't now.
CGI is super exspensive,TF toys are super exspensive to create.
Might as well kill 2 birds with one stone & have 5 TF Prime donobots that combine to form a gestalt.
Instead of having 5 TF Prime combine & then 5 OTHER Autobots to combine to form a gestalt combiner. I just don't think the CGI cost+labor can handle creating 21 CGI Models for the TF Prime cartoon series. we'd basically need 10 CGI models for the 5 dinobots to change back & forth. then we'd need 11 CGI models for the 5 autobots that combine to form a gestalt & change back & forth.
If this TF Prime cartoon series was being done in cel animation, then I'd say yeah lets go for it. lets have 5 dinobots & then 5 other autobots that combine to form a gestalt. since it's CGI,I say lets make the dinobots combine to save cost+labor.
Anyways does anyone really want a repeat performance of the energon cartoon series. where the energon 5-in-1 combiners that received no persona's & just felt like they were their to sell the toys in stores.
I kinda want less characters in TF Prime to fully or better develop the characters.
Another factor to consider is the more characters introduced into the TF Prime cartoon seies. the more voice actors need to get hired to voice each character. even if hasbro were to have various voice actors voice 2 to 3 characters, hasbro would still have to pay that voice actor for 3 voices/characters & not just hand him a salary pay check at the end of the week/month.
The economy isn't doing that great. so to create 5 TF prime dinobots that don't combine then to create 5 other autobots that do combine. would be wasting 10 toy slots, cost times ten to create new molds, labor, concept skeches, molding & so forth. MIGHT AS well just cut that all in half by having 5 TF Primr dinobots that combine to form a gestalt.
