BOTCON 2012 "Convoy to Dallas"

My apologies if I picked the wrong spot to squat and lay a question (forgive me, I'm still a mini-con) but I've been meaning to ask if there are any people out there in our community that are planning to convoy in groups to Dallas for Botcon.

I had this idea a few years back in 2010 when I was driving down to Orlando for Botcon and was cruising down I-75 and ended up behind those guys from Tennessee that had the MOTOMASTER tractor that attended that year. That thing was mean looking and it was cool as hell cruising togetheir for almost 50 miles knowing that we were heading to the same party.
I know the answer depends on which direction people would be coming from so I'm speaking of the Florida and south Georgia residents in particular. I'm located in Tallahassee and we're located on I-10 here which is one of the direct routes to Dallas from the east coast. I thought it might be a good spot to have a group meet up (especially if your sporting a tricked out 'Bot vehicle) so we could all drive togetheir one afternoon.
Yea, I know there would be complicated logistics involved (like a persons schedule and how many days off they have and also things like people stopping to eat, stretch, and pee while en-route and stuff like that) but like I was telling someone earlier it could be a pretty impressive sight as well. Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there to see what type of response it would garner. If it ended up working out it could end up being a sort of tradition depending on what city hosted Botcon in the future.

*Also, I wouldn't be surprised if there were already a group out there doing this that I'm not aware of.
Thx!

:CON: Edit: I didn't shoot this video (I stumbled upon it on youtube months ago). But this is similar to the experience that I had that evening on the way down.

I remember seeing motormaster in orlando..Shot a ton of pics..truly epic..

While the idea is epic and would truly be awesome, I think alot of people are flying to botcon for the convienece. Me personally botcon is only a 4 hour drive So Im renting a car and driving up there( from san antonio). I used to live in orlando so Im familiar with the route your gonna be taking, pretty much a straight shot.

be sure to look for the group of total badasses at the con wearing the seibertron shirts so we can all meet up and have a nice rowdy crowd :)!

As a lowrider enthusiast, believe me I do see your vision. However, you would probally get a bigger response here if we were all classic car owners going to a big car show or motorcycle clubs riding to bike week. This will be my 3rd Botcon, and I have noticed that Transformers collectors only have 2 things in common: Transformers and beer. As I suggested before, me and my homie will be looking to check out Dallas and see the nightlife as well. Maybe you wanna click up ??? Were not just gonna stay holed up in a hotel room every night or hang out in the hotel lobby. So if you got some friends in Dallas, show us where the party's at

If you havent met them before, I can introduce you to a few senior board members, including the site owner. They are all really cool people. ;)

Thanks for the responses. I'm thinking of creating a unauthorized Seibertron tee of my own with my user name just for the hell of it LOL Yeah Rated-X, that'll work. I can meet up with your group after I arrive. I havn't decided yet when I'm leaving to head over there Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (I'm leaning toward Thursday morning at the moment). Also I don't have tickets yet. I might get one of the remaining package deals if I come into some money in the next few weeks but i doubt it, I'd rather just pay at the door Saturday anyway and put that money toward my plastic crack habit anyway.

My buddy lives just north of Dallas but close by. He's part of my close knit group of friends from highschool in south georgia. The only problem with him is he's a Latter Day Saint (Mormon) and he's married so trust me he's not gonna know jack s__t about the lowdown in Dallas.
However he's currently working on his doctorate there and he teaches undergrads and he says that some of his students will proboly be at Botcon as well so I'm confidant that as the date gets closer that I'll end up getting the lowdown from someone on the social and nightlife scene there. Now me on the other hand, I'm a Commercial Photographer and I also work part time for a few of the college clubs in Tallahassee & Gainesville off and on so I'm DEFINATLEY no stranger to late nights full of beer fueled mayhem. :KREMZEEK:

I should be alone for the trip, the only other friend (from the same aformentioned highschool group) that would be interested in Botcon is currently serving in Afghanistan and he's due back in May just after Botcon so he won't make it I'm afraid. And my girlfriend talked about "wanting to go" just for the roadtrip but she's in Tampa finishing up her school/internship this semester and I don't think there is anyway she's gonna be able to make it up for that many days, plus all that extra driving so I'm 80% sure I'm gonna be stag for most of the trip. Yes, I definatley want to get better aquainted with the Seibertron staff, I've been listening to the podcasts for so long now that I feel as though I know them anyway, exept it's kind of a one sided relationship, they talk and I'm forced to listen LOL But it's all good. The closer it gets to April the more stoked I'm getting. I'll respond to the private messages this week to swap contact info. Sounds good.

I used to live close to the downtown area and the location of botcon this year is adjacent to what is called "The west end" basically the night life of dallas goes on. The house of blues, lotsa local bars andgreat resurants are very close by. Not to mention lotsa of other stuff to see..
