With BotCon, we get caught up in the product reveals, pictures, news tidbits and everything else that's overwhelming. The wow factor, as it's known. This BotCon, however, will be the most memorable for one fan who had his wish come true.

You may not know the name of Dr. Timothy Lim, but you do know his work.

(Which can be found Here, Here, and Here.)

Earlier this year, Dr. Lim created a piece of art for the Hasbro Children's Hospital fundraiser.

This is the story behind that work:

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Dr. Timothy Lim, Au.D. I am an audiologist from the state of Arkansas.

Today is a big day for me: thanks to an endorsement by Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime, RIPT Apparel and myself are selling my shirt, "The Voice of a Generation", to raise money for Hasbro Children's Hospital, the pediatric division of Rhode Island Hospital.

Optimus Prime, for a lot of people in my generation, has become an iconic hero. He was the first toy I remember getting for Christmas: the distinct voice of Peter Cullen on a Saturday morning echoes nostalgically in my memory. To say that this is an immense honor is an understatement.

As an audiologist, it's wonderful to finally be able to pay it forward, especially towards pediatrics: in audiology, I have a profound respect for the women and men who give so much care and attention to children with hearing loss and aiding them throughout childhood. I'm thankful to my fellow audiologists, faculty, and colleagues for their continued support of my audiologic and artistic endeavors: I wouldn't be here without you.

My entire artist royalties from this sale will go towards Hasbro Children's Hospital, with RIPT Apparel matching my donation. Please forward this to anyone you know who might be a Transformers fan, or fans of Mr. Cullen in general.

Sincere thanks to you all!

~ Timothy Lim, Au.D.

With help from Dan Gilvezan (!), Dr. Lim was given a chance to meet his hero, and it became a moment that was touching for the both of them.

He met Mr. Peter Cullen, himself.

I met with the voice of Bumblebee, who got in contact with Hasbro representatives to let me have an audience with my childhood hero, Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen). He hugged me and said my work was great, and cried. I cried too.

You all have been supportive: this has been an incredible experience. Thank you all for EVERYTHING, each and every one of you.

Congratulations to Dr. Lim for getting the chance to have a dream come true, and thank you for your contribution.

I love this shirt and bought it on sight. I would have bought it anyway, but knowing that a portion of the proceeds went to a good cause makes me even more glad I did.

Man, that guy must feel honored. Awesome for him!

What I find weird about Mr. Cullen is that he looks a lot like my Civics teacher. No lie. Only thing is that my teacher's hair is a little lighter than Mr. Cullen's.

Good news! The internet has places to buy things! ;) I met this fella at Botcon. Super nice. I had been buying some clever TF shirts over the course of the year. Come to find out only days before the con, they were all his work. I told him so at Botcon and he seemed very grateful and amused. I'd been drinking so I didn't stand in one spot too long but it was a pleasure to meet him and I am tickled to hear of his success and of meeting his hero.
