Doesn't sound a little too obvious that the Matrix and Prime chose the rebellious Hot Rod to be the next leader? I bet Prime would do that for a young femme bot or decepticon or human girl?

Could you honestly see Arcee leading the Autobots? I sure can't. Don't ask me why.
Ultra Magnus was definitely the better choice, I wish he'd gotten it instead of Hot Rod...

but prime didnt choose hot rod, he chose Ultra Magnus, it was just the Matrix that chose hot rod!

It is worth noting that "Arise Rodimus Prime" was uttered by Optimus.

he only said that cause he'd become one with the matrix and found out that hot rod was the chosen one!

from the movie it looks like the matrix only bonded to hot rod because he was the first one to touch it after prime died and then it glowed before magnus even touched it.
perhaps if magnus grabbed it first it would have properly bonded to him, blame magnus' poor refexes.

Magnus doubted his ability from the start Hod Rod just accepted it and the self doubt didn't sink in until later season 3.
Magnus really didn't want the responsiblity.
hard to say otherwise Magnus did have leadership qualities however.

Sometimes leaders fall into place, like it. At the time, first
view of the movie..figured he might. All good.

Well, I think we all know who the Matrix was really trying to choose. I can just imagine Optimus inside the Matrix with all the other great Autobot leaders as Wheelie took command.
"Arise, Wheelimus...Prime? Oh, come on, this is ridiculous! Its like any old 'bot can just pick up the Matrix these days. Oh, well. He'll be killed soon enough."
Now that that's out of my system, Ultra Magnus was just lazy and didn't want the job.

Because Hot Rod was the chosen one, is that the reason Ultra Magnus' body wasn't altered?

Yo, cut her some slack.Yes, she has a bloody obsession with Females in Transformers which is borderline ridiculous sometimes, and YES, she asks ridiculous questions, but at least she has an imagination, and at least SHE doesn't think Robots can get pregnant, unlike SOMEONE I just quoted.

Man.. 2 warnings in a day...
This statement hit 2 rules violations
The Rules wrote:3. No hate speech.
No racial slurs, religious discrimination, sexism, homophobic remarks, etc. Seibertron.com is open and welcoming to everyone, and we plan on keeping it that way.
AND...[/]
[b]1. No flaming, trolling, harassing, or baiting other guests.
Flaming should be self evident, trolling means to make posts or threads for the intended purpose of starting an argument, while baiting is any post intended to make another user resort to flaming. Harassment means following a user or group of users around through multiple threads to flame them, bait them, or otherwise cause them to want to avoid the boards because of a user's actions towards them. If there is a discussion and there ends up some sort of disagreement on someones personal opinion, simply try and respect each others opinions without forcing them on others.
This is your second attack on babylon queen..
This is your second warning.

Please don't assume such things. In regular life I've become a bit of a feminist (not hardcore, but more than I used to be) but I know where females don't belong, and they don't really belong in Transformers. I can enjoy Transformers all being male without feeling the need to throw in a female just to make girls happy. It's in real life, with jobs and equal pay that matters. Not in Transformers.
And they chose Hot Rod because he was unlikely. Plus he had a cool car.

Not a Decepticon! Only Autobots can open the Matrix.

Didn't thunderwing open it at the end of the matrix quest?

I think I can end the debate. Remember when Hot Rod tackled Megatron and then was used as a shield to keep Optimus from shooting? I believe it was the matrix that willed Hot Rod to do that so the torch would be passed. And to Bablyon Queen, I think that Arcee was not chosen for the simple fact that making a toy of her that would look decent (and try to keep the fem shape) plus the fact that the target series was boys is why Arcee wouldn't recieve it.
That'd be sweet to see though.

There were several SYMBOLIC reasons that made Hot Rod the chosen one. A kind of premonitions if you will.
1. During the one-on-one fight between Prime and Megatron, ONLY Hot Rod has this overwhelming concern for the leader, and run along to help him. Although his effort backfired, due to his inexperience and over eagerness.
2. When Prime dropped the Matrix upon his death, it was Hot Rod who caught it. Although the Matrix was not meant to be passed to him, he has, again, an overwhelming concern for the Matrix, and coupled with his youthful alertness, was able to prevent it from falling straight to the ground.
3. After their ordeal in the Sharkticon planet, Hot Rod rose to the occasion to gradually take the lead. He negotiated with a new friend for a transport ship, to be able to find the others.
4. Arriving at the Junk Planet, Hot Rod showed true leadership and wisdom by befriending a new race of robots.
5. Hot Rod then, as a true leader should, plotted the next course of decisive action. To destroy Unicron.
6. Lastly, it was Hot Rod who, with determination, pulled their damaged space ship towards Unicron's eye.
And the rest is history.

Personally, I don't think it matters. I think a female

would be just as a good leader.
Alita 1 was a great leader on Cybertron. I say Alpha Trion put a little bit of the Matrix in her. He didn't rebuild them, he added a little bit of the Matrix and
it reformatted them.
The whole time everybody thinks A3 is so great, but know this, he's nothing but a Matrix pimp.
