So I just came back from BotCon and just saw the movie (again) tonight. I think I'm getting hooked

This all being said, did anyone stay til the end this year, and if so did they say where next year's BotCon is going to be?

They said that they still had not finalized where next years Botcon will be yet. They said it just before closing.

We're betting on two locations: Detroit and Orlando.

Detroit due to the new series being located there and the new ties with GMC.

Orlando because Florida is long overdue, has Disney, and will draw the east coast far better than LA.

I sure hope that they come to the LA area.

Flo-Ri-Da, I have never been to Botcon and would love to go. 'sides FL kick @ss! Also, my sis lives there(Orlando) so free room and board.

Ditto, although if it's in Detroit, $5 says they use the Novi convention center.

No, no one intrested in bringing Botcon to Dublin? Guess ill have to make the trip state side next year.

I vote for Oklahoma City. Plenty of potential venues in Bricktown, lots to do around town, and centrally located.

...the fact that I currently live there has nothing to do with this endorsement.

They need to finally show the south some love. They were going to have it in Atlanta once, but they switched to St. Paul MN, which still worked for me since I have friends that lived there. If they have it in Florida, I can get there easily.

Detroit would be nice, much closer to Chicago than Orlando.

I think the biggest reason they avoid the south is the hotter and more humid climate. Or at least the possibility of it. Up north all your really have to worry about is maybe a thunderstorm. Whereas if they plan something in Florida or anywhere near that area, it might not even be there because of a hurricane.

I think if they keep it in the summer that the south is rough because of the heat, but if they go back to Sept. (which is my understanding what it used to be) then the south really isn't that bad and though a hurricane is a possibility generally they aren't much more than rain and wind (unless you get in the Cat 3+ which despite the past few years are rare).

I just hope it stays in the summer b/c if it goes to Sept. I will have to worry about school.

That last bit there is probably the very reason for why it's held midsummer. I'd love to see it be held in Columbus, Ohio next year. I've always wanted to go there and it would give me a solid reason to do so.

I would love for it to come to Florida. I could so save money and be able to go, it's cheaper for me to drive 1.5 hrs. from Tampa to Orlando then buy a plan ticket and fly to the northern states. It's not that bad here in FL. Our hurricane season usually doesn't start kicking bad till end of July or so. Sometimes FL doesn't get one till Sept. I think Florida should get a botcon, at least once.

If nothing else was going on, I could actually make it to one there.

I'm hoping for Orlando. That way I can double up Botocn and vacation. In exchange for staying at Disney, my GF won't mind all the waiting in lines for exclusives and what not so much.

I drove 23 hours to get to BotCon this year, but I'd really rather not have to repeat that next year. I'm hoping for Orlando. Florida, and the South in general, is long overdue for a BotCon.

I wouldn't mind it being down in FL. That weather would be pretty nice and I haven't been down there in years!! Now if it's out on the west coast like CA, then I don't know if I can make it. Hope we can find out soon.
