Why not a transformer bus?

Hi, folks.

There are various transformers that convert to different alt-modes, like trucks, cars, jets, helicopters, cycles, ambulances, SUVs, trains, guns, buggys, tanks, planes, spaceships, K-7 players and records, beasts or even cities and planets.

But i dont know why there are many toys of charachers in the Transformers universe that transform in the most different and unimaginable things, but no one convert to a bus. I just can´t understand it. It´s so obvious, but Hasbro didn´t put this option in the poll to bulid an all-new character, just the "traditional" vehicles, it´s so ridiculous.

A 3rd party tried to do it but, looks like that it didn´t worked.

Buses are boring and i'm almost positive it would be kibble heavy. I get that it would work very well with the "robots in disguise" theme but it doesn't look like something that would work well on the battlefield either.
That's my two cents anyways. I'm not knocking the idea and i could be completely wrong about the kibble comment.

Not sure if it ever was made, but there were plans for a third party transforming bus. I refer to the one in this thread.

And of course, there is Bendy-Bus Prime!

Wow. That's one lazy shoop.

Anyway, I think a bus would be pretty easy to do, especially if you cant see the interior.
So, why not take a page from Car Robo (AKA TF RID) and make a combiner team à la Railraicer?

One robot for the legs (British two-story bus), one for the torso (Schoolbus) and one for the arms (voyageur bus).

Something in the back of my brain was telling me that I had seen a transforming bus ages ago in the Tonka GoBots line and after some digging I managed to find this pic of a source-book listing. The glare off the catalogs page makes it hard to see the full picture but it is unmistakably a bus.

Far left side, second image down below Leader-1 (the gray fighter jet) is the bus-bot and it appears to be done in the basic size frame of their figures, what most of us TF collectors would consider to be about the same size as the Cyberverse Commander class of figures from the current line, slightly larger than current Legends class scale if I remember my Go-Bots correctly. It's been about 15 years since I owned any of those so and they weren't exactly my favorites so I didn't pay as much attention to them as I did with the TF's.

Great job on finding that -Kanrabat-. :APPLAUSE:

If one is a lousy/lazy designer. Come on, a bus is just a goddamn SQUARE vehicle. A cube can change into ANYTHING.

Also, just look at that next video. Sure, it's not a transformers and the "robot" is a brick, but I ask: WHERE'S THE KIBBLE?

I do have that toy too and it's design just blew me away. Like a sock that you turn over!

The Machine-Robo design, while rather uninspired, pulled it off quite well. What I consider to be kibble would be extraneous parts hanging out and/or getting in the way and there is none of that there. It's just "bulked up" which was commonplace for transforming toys of that time frame. Even Classics Astrotrain has very little kibble considering he's a triple changer. So yeah, if the designer is lazy then you'll have annoying kibble but if they know what they're doing... well crap! That just takes your odds down to 50/50 at best if Hasbro does it. Better run this one by the Takara boys first and pay more for an Asian release. If the North American team has to follow instructions or reverse engineer it, you aren't going to like the end result.
Maybe if you pitch the idea to IDW and get it into one of the comics we MIGHT get a cool looking bus out of the deal. ;)
