This is excellent. Just. Genius.
Shadowman, RhA, Dead Metal, get in here.
This is an online petition to stop a corrupt toy company from making toys with harmful names that can subliminally corrupt our children's minds.
I first encountered this when my kid got a toy robot that turns into a blue jet called "Thundercracker." Cracker is a racial slur used to disparage Caucasians. I started an online petition for this, but as I did more research, it seems Hasbro is hell bent on putting bad ideas into our children's brains. Besides, Hasbro's corporate lackeys have flooded and spammed my first petition with indecent entries to mock my efforts, no doubt.
But I remain undeterred.
Aside from the racist "Thundercracker" name, Hasbro issued toys with the following names which any God-fearing, decent parent would find objectionable.
Acid Storm - this is a green jet that has an obvious reference to drugs. Aside from the Acid in the name, the toy has the numbers 420, which means marijuana
Brawl - glorifies violence and street fights
Blackout - also racist, and they made him a villain. Do we want to teach kids that African-American people are all evil?
Blitzwing - an allusion to NAZI war tactics and Aryan supremacy
Cliffjumper - suggests that kids kill themselves by jumping from cliffs and other high places
Inferno - an attempt to make hellfire cool with kids, so not only does Hasbro think it's okay to teach kids racism, they also want them to worship the devil
Knockout - a misogynist term that male chauvinists use to degrade independent women
Roadblock - from their G.I. Joe line, a person of African-American descent called Roadblock, which almost sounds like "black"
And these are only some of the toys I saw online.
I'm not really sure why this company prefers to use offensive names when they can just name their toys after heroic characters in mythology and the bible, which would at least support literacy in our children.
I have contacted their customer support again and again for an explanation on this unethical business practice. I'm even talking with my lawyer on what legal recourse we can avail to fight the good fight for our children.
The more of us concerned Americans who band together to fight this menace, the quicker we remedy this situation.
Let us fight the good fight and God Bless America and her children!

I demand a Masterpiece Methusela! Heck, I'm sorta legitimately surprised we've not had a Lazarus Prime yet.
I wonder if this guy found Erector?

I needed that.
He has to be joking. Or really, seriously, don't-be-alone-with-him disturbed.

This is obviously the reason for gun violence.
Also, I'm gonna go jump off a cliff since my toy gave me subliminal messages to do so.

Oh god, this is still kicking around!
Yes I've found this over Facebook when it first surfaced a while ago, and I even signed and commented on it taking the piss.
Although new names have been added since then, lol at Roadblock.
"Go to bed Knockout, it's late."
Gotta do some more commenting!

Edit:
Oh, this isn't the one from back then, this is a new one, like a director's cut!

What disturbs me is not really the petition itself, but (yet again) the hateful comments made. Talk about serious backlash, and some was a bit uncalled for. Don't get me wrong, I still think the petition is silly, but to call names and excessive ridiculing her?
O well, that's the internet for ya.

I agree. The petition in itself is hilariously ridiculous, but that does not justify viciously hateful behaviour. But yes, the illusion of online anonymity makes some people feel in the right to become complete and utter filth.

I feel that there is a line here. A joke is okay, but I draw the line at personal insults. Simply don't assume anything about someone and still be funny. That is the challenge.

Yes, and hopefully avoid the racism, sexism and plain idiocy in reply too.

The sad part is, she may not even know what she's doing even if she means well. I showed the petition to my wife, who clearly remembers the last one, and she said that woman is making stuff up at times. We both agreed she needs help.
