when playing the last level in Transformers game. In the Deceptcion mode, the last fight. Megatron refers to Optimus as "borther"

Is this true? Think about it. no one hates more than family.

just a thought

No.

It's basically a Magneto/Prof. X relationship.

Absolutely not.

But the movie asserts that they are 'brothers' of some sort or another.

Magneto wasn't evil. He just had different views from Xavier's. He's more like Malcolm X to the Prof's Martin Luther King Jr.

Magneto
Wants to take over the world putting mutants over humans.

Megatron
Wants to take over the universe, putting decepticons over everything.

Magneto
Willing to destroy humanity for his own goals.

Megatron
Willing to destroy everything for his own goals.

How the heck you got the the last level I will never know...but I read some of the comic movie Prequels and in them Optimus and Megatron ruled over Cybertron equally, then Megs betrayed Opti and the war started...

so, It was more of a "We were together so long that it is like we are brothers" sorta thing...

In the G1 cartoon megatron was a new style robot that could fly and orion pax thought megatron was cool. But then megatron killed orion and he became optimus thanks to alpha trion.

Too bad the movie is its own continuity. Hence Ironhide and Rachet not being vans...

In the movie novelization, Optimus tells Sam that he and Megatron "were once brothers, in the sense that you understand the term."

In the movie they are "brothers" ,which does not mean that they share a biological mom and dad. :)

Magneto ,in most vrs. of the character, truely believes that armed conflict between the bulk of humanity and mutants will happen. He also refuses to allow his "people" to be slaughtered again, not when he has the power to stop it. He wants to "take over the world and put mutants in charge" because he truely believes that there is no other way. And yes he has done things that are horrible to that end, becuase he thinks that voilence is the only way humans can be communicated with. I wouldn't call him evil but ... he fudges the line. It depends if the action or the intent behind the actions is more important to you for determineing what is evil.

Megs on the other hand wants to become the ruler of the universe by any means required (short answer). I would say he is evil.

Oddly I consider some of Magneto's followers evil and some of Megatron's not.

In the past Prime and Megs co-ruled Cybertron and were I guess could be refered as "best friends/brothers".
