For the past year, upstate SC has had very little int he way of transformers. At least at Walmart. Out of 3 Walmart stores I frequent, only one of them has carried much of anything. They have inexplicably raised prices (elite construct bots went from 15 to 20, no other store has done this) and seem to refuse to stock anything. In the last year, at my own local Walmart I have seen only one single thrilling 30 deluxe and that was a Bumblebee. Instead, there are 4 Beast Hunters deluxes of which Starscream make up 3 of that count. There are some cyberverse commanders, but they are all Predaking. In fact at my local store there has been a empty space for generations deluxe that have been completely empty since before Christmas.

Today, I went by a Walmart in a much larger urban area. They haven't been great but better than my own store. This is what I saw:

The TMNT stuff goes down until the end of the shelf. That is all the space they have even given Transformers stuff. I bet the idiots look at the numbers and think TFs are not selling. THEY AREN'T SELLING BECAUSE YOU DON'T STOCK THEM.

anyone else notice this?

My Walmart is also very thin on Transformers right now. I suspect it is because they're gearing up for the movie line hitting shelves in about 5-6 weeks. No need to stock up on old stuff when the new line is about to kick off.

(Hi! I'm finally jumping into other threads!)

I have a friend who works at Walmart... we were discussing this a few months ago when I was looking for a Transformer for my son (seriously, it was for him! I swear it!)

As she has told me, Walmart rotates out all it's stock every two to three months to make way for (what they think) the newest seller is. I suspect when the movie comes out in July, for about 3 weeks they'll be piles of movie related toys, then they'll stop ordering them, maybe one or two will trickle in.

Our Walmart looks the same, then again, our Walmart never seems to actually stock anything... I routinely look to the Walmart sky and ask "Isn't there supposed to be products on this vast empty shelf?" (totally truthful, they always have 10 feet of empty shelf with maybe a couple products shoved way back in the shelves, for weeks on end). But I noticed the same thing at our Target... to an extent. I've been seeing new Transformers toys popping in at Target. Mostly Beast Hunters, but I doubt the department stores are likely to see any really diverse selection.

The place to find new toys is target. You will occasionally get lucky at Kmart and your wallet gets raped @ tru..

I go to 2 seperate Walmarts and both have had slim pickings as far as anything other then Beast Wars.
We have a target about 4 miles from here that's not to bad.Depending on what week. The TRU is waaayyy over priced.
