Yes, me too. He definatley looks better as a giant dragon.

That's seriously creepy.

They could always do a new design for Ridley, its hardly like Samus herself has remained the same since day one.

Actually no, both of them have remained largely the same since their creation. And even then, SSB never redesigns anyone. They'll add detail, sure, but no one's gone through a redesign, except for Pit but he hasn't been in a game for over 20 years. Hell, I'm fairly certain Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf's models in Brawl were ripped directly out of Twilight Princess.

No, Ridley is better gigantic. That's the way he's always been and he's better that way.

I don't wanna pick any bones here, but..... even here she goes from buxom (GB) to female boxer (SNES) to Athletic (GBA). Samus has gone through enough "alterations" to allow Ridley's arms to get a little thicker and his body smaller - its hardly like the characters in SSBB are even to scale anyways.

SSBB also uses only specially created character models, tailored for the game engine. Models may look similar, but they have to be standardised. Also - did you know that Shadow's graphic (unlike most Assist Trophies or BG characters) has as much detailing as a character?

And to return to actual Smash Bros. discussion - I prefered Melee. The combat feels much more balanced and polished.

The only real difference between those is her outfits and the art style used.

But still, resizing Ridley is pointless because he's supposed to be this giant dragon-like monster. Resizing the Pokemon or Olimar is one thing, but every piece of Metroid fiction he's been in puts emphasis on Ridley's size. Even Brawl. Being shrunken down kills his whole giant-scary-monster appeal, and then he's just an underweight human-sized pterodactyl.

And besides, i've never really wanted to see Ridley anyways. I think it was enough to get to fight him TWICE in the SSE. Especially in his awesome Meta-Form. They could probably make him an assist trophy, though.

On your points on Olimar, he's never compared to a normal Human in his games like Ridley is. You could easily imagine him as a normal-sized guy. With kirby it's the same.

They could go with his design in Other M, he was bulkier in that and wouldn't look as weird scaled down. Or instead of Ridley why not Dark Samus? I still want Megaman too, with an ability copying power similar to Kirby's

I haven't played Other M yet, but I doubt that was Ridley, unless he has the ability to reverse his entire life cycle. Did they even show him in his final form? The Metroid Wiki doesn't have anything past his third form, the one you're describing, but that's basically a not-yet-finish Ridley.

But wouldn't Dark Samus just be a duplicate fighter? Does she/it even have any unique moves?

Spoiler! It was a clone of Ridley. They uses some of his DNA they got off of Samus' suit. His early life stage looked like a Furby so they didn't know he was dangerous until he started attacking people. He went through a couple of metamorphoses and eventually grew into his final form.

There are several characters that have the same moves. Captain Falcon and Ganondorf have the same moves, so do all the Star Fox characters.

And he looks weird as hell. His shoulders are too broad compared to his neck. His thicker arms looks really weird, too. He was a lot cooler looking when he was all spindly.

I agree, he looks better skinny and skeletal, but for SSB I think that would look better.

Depending on how soon a next Smash Bros game comes out (i.e. before the next Metroid game), it's likely they'd use the latest version of Ridley, like they did with Ganondorf, Link, and Zelda.
While I still think playable Ridley could work, I can understand all the points against him. Let's just agree to disagree and move on.

I'm surprised there wasn't at least an alternate costume for Dark Samus. There was "Dark Link", "Dixie" Diddy Kong, "Wario" Mario, "Waluigi" Luigi, and a bunch more 'cameo' type color swaps; And Dark Samus 'starred' in two recent games (three if you count its role as Metroid Prime)

Well, we do have Dark Suit Samus from "Corruption". And don't forget Dark Toon Link.

Samus doesn't get a Dark Suit in Corruption. I think you mean the Phazon Suit from MP1, black and gray with a red visor and red details.

Not really, Dark Samus is portrayed with black or blue armor and a light blue visor and light blue details. She also isn't exactly like Samus:

Many of Dark Samus's abilities are similar to Samus's, though some abilities are not shared between the two. Her basic beam fires a scattered burst of Phazon, she may charge this to fire a sustained beam of Phazon. Dark Samus can fire a beam that can encase her target in Phazon, similar to the Ice Beam. She has a form of the Boost Ball that she can allow her to boost far longer than Samus is capable of doing. She can generate a shield that is impervious to all attacks, save blasts of Phazon; she will often use this when Samus fires Missiles at her. She also can become invisible.

After her defeats on Aether, Dark Samus gained ever more abilities, some absorbed from the Phazon-corrupted Hunters that Samus defeated. She is capable of generating Echoes of herself that may attack while Dark Samus absorbs energy to heal herself. She and one of the Echoes can simultaneously fire a sustained beam while spinning. She may also spin without firing a beam. Dark Samus is also capable of creating large pillars of ice and generate shock waves.

If they do make a fourth game, which is likely, and I hope that they do, I would love to see these characters.

MegaMan
(His Final Smash could be when he combines with Rush to fly around and shoot his fists)

Simon Belmont
(Final Smash- "What a horrible night to have a curse")

Ephraim (From Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, but not to replace Ike or Marth)
(Final Smash- Maybe he could call a bunch of soldiers to charge across the screen)

Animal Crossing boy/girl (Maybe use alternate costumes for choosing the gender. I'd say they would actually be a pretty good addition, likely using the tools you can purchase in the games to fight)
(Final Smash- Maybe have the bus come and run over enemies? I'm not sure about this one yet.)

Any pokemon that's not Jigglypuff (Maybe switch up the trainer's pokemon too. At least have a different order, like Bulbasaur-Charmeleon-Blastoise)
(Final Smash- Hyper beam, or something like that)

I don't see any kind of Transformer being added into Smash Bros, because they really aren't video game characters.

Assist trophies-
Protoman or Bass
Tails, or Knuckles
Goron, Gerudo, or Zora
Dry Bones

Character adjustments-
I really don't have any complaints other than maybe bring Mewto back instead of Lucario, and make Marth a little stronger (like he was in melee).

JetOptimus23's signature makes me think they should put Bub and Bob from Bubble Bobble in Smash Bros.

And in doing research, it would seem they came out with a Bubble Bobble Plus on the Wii(to be honest, I haven't been keeping up with Wiiware too much), so the companies have some relationship currently.

So yeah, Bub and Bob for Smash 4!!

Show of hands, who here was surprised when MegaMan wasn't in Brawl? When they said there would be three third-party characters, I think it's a safe bet that we were all expecting MegaMan. I mean, nearly all of his games have been on Nintendo consoles, and Capcom loves crossovers.
