Haha, I wasn't trying to compare DA Legends to DA II, I just meant that DA Legends was somehow fixing my craving for kicking Darkspawn ass. I guess I'll give DA II a wait... something just doesn't feel right about the game (still pissed off about the romances being so ... ugh) and yeah, I dunno.

I would start off with Origins, the Awakening. Both are far superior and you should be able to pick them up pretty cheap now.

On the whole Darkspawn issue, there really aren't tham many in DA II. Most of the enemies you fight are mercs or slavers with the occasional beast thrown in.

Yeah, I think i'll get the first few games instead. I don't like how some of the stuff you could have done in DA is just randomized into DA2 if you haven't played the previous games. It's like going into ME2 without Wrex!

For my two playthroughs now in DA II, there is very little that carried over. You never see your Warden again, there are slight mentions of events from the DLC chapters, and it almost seems pointless to import your save.

Suddenly Alister is king now, but I had him exiled in the first game. At least the choices you made in Mass Effect mattered.

Seriously? Ugh. And the fact that you ripped through the game twice already... yeah, I'll wait a while before I buy DAII... maybe like next week instead of tomorrow :P

My first run through I went with a pure charachter. The second time I was as evil as I could be but nothing really changed that much. You still get the same outcome no matter how you decide to play as. It is still a very enjoyable game, it just wasn't what I expected. With so many other great games out right now, I'd focus on something else and wait for DA II to hit the bargin bins.

I think it would be better as a stand alone title and not be associiated with the DA franchise.

Holy cripes, when Tekka said everyone in Thedas got breast implants.. he meant it, lol! I honestly can't even take this game seriously when I play with Isabella. Currently a Lvl 9 Rogue, and with all the free upgrades from Dragon Age Legends I'm competing well in Hard mode. Beth + Merrill + Fenris is doing well for me.. Fenris manages to tank everything with some Five Star 2-hander that I have no idea how I got to begin with.. certainly not from DA Legends. Bethany's all elemental/heal and Merrill's my dark/blood mage + that rock golem armor makes her a huge tank. Gonna be sad when I have to do the Deep Roads 'cause I don't want Beth to be a GW... guess I'll swap her out for Aveline. Having a range heavy party will probably be freaking stupid through the next two Acts anyways, lol.

Yeah it does get pretty crazy with the breasts, the female characters in general got the short end of the stick, so to speak. Even the grand cleric has a giant pair of torpedoes to shove in your face, and has an idle animation that makes her stand like a hooker on a street corner instead of looking like a priestess.

I let Bethany go to the circle, she's happier there... I wouldn't wish becoming a grey warden on anyone, it's a terrible fate. I still hope to be able to cure my Warden of the taint some day. On my second playthrough I also used the console to save Carver, having both of them in the final battle was really cool.

I know this is a DA2 discussion, but I must know this:
How the hell do you kill the Brood Mother in Origins!? I just got Origins the other day, and I'm stuck on this part. I just ran all the way back to the dwarf city in the middle of the fight. I just can't do it!!! Do you even have to get the dwarfs to fight for you?

Or should I just quit and buy DA 2 instead?

The broodmother can't move, so I like to use the elemental storms on it from a distance, and have my party pick off the tentacles as is necessary.

Well, I decided to back track the entire level and leave so I could come back at another time when I'm leveled up. But now I'm stuck in the Fade in the Circle Tower or whatever it is. I'm sure I'll figure this one out eventually.

Ahh, the fade is a pain in the ass, take your time.

Well, I've beaten it now, and I finally killed the Brood Mother just a few minutes ago. Off to finish the game!

So does the end battle really change depending on which side you pick for DA2? Was Pro Mage the entire game because of Bethany and Merrill. Orsini went rogue and Meridith was my goal to begin with. Im guessing if you side with Templars, Orsini's your goal and Meredith goes rogue?

Nope. Regardless of which side you choose, the final battle is identical. It's this things like this which make the main story feel utterly retarded. The more I think about it, the more I come to dislike this game.

Thats pretty lame then. I know with ME and ME2, your goal is to save the Universe and I'm fine with the plot being linear. But with DA2.. I dunno, I just thought I'd be a bit far out there. Oh well. Time to wait and get snogged by the DLC and DA3.

..and speak of DLC.. I'm a bit flustered. If any DLC is released then I'll have to restart my game cause there's no post-end game playability. Ugh.

Nevermind.. there is end-game playability!

Anyone getting DLC Legacy on July 26th?

Just started my 2nd DAII playthrough as a Ginger Femme Warrior. Funny how Beth and Carver are still brunettes. Going to try to complete all the achievements on this run, sans the Sebastian DLC which I haven't bought yet.

I find myself in a dilemma. I want to play the DLC, yet I don't want to give Bioware my money and validate the incredibly shoddy job they've done on this game. I'm probably going to limit myself to borrowing the DLC from somebody else or watching a let's play of it.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. I'm going to pick up Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition... at the price it's selling at retail, it's a ridiculous steal. Silly DLC...

That's what I did. I don't know why the Ultimate Edition is the exact same price as the regular Edition, but I am sooooo not complaining that I basically get all that DLC for free.

Did you mod your sibling's hair? Cause I'm a ginger and Bethany's hair is still black as Skywarp.

Yeah. I got a bit sick of being blonde and both my siblings having black hair. It looked like I was adopted.
