Instead it was a bit more of Beast Machines Megatron than we were led to believe.

Well, we DID see things from Megatron's point of view. It just happens he's a complete psycho. Just because we can see things from his point of view doesn't mean it's going to make him any more sympathetic, it just means we're going to get a closer look at his insanity.

My problem is that I DID prefer melee weapons, in single player. (Lack of internet prevented me from using multiplayer, that's on the schedule today) Considering it's a one-hit-kill on most enemies, having it toned down a bit would have been nice. Make it more than just a "kill everything in range" button.

I absolutely love this game. It is really awesome. The Campaign and the multiplayer are both just really fun. I'm just glad we have a great Transformers game now (though I did think ROTF was ok). I am certain this game will do for Transformers what Arkham Asylum did for Batman.

My only complaints are that the AI is a little dumb. I've had times where I used an elevator and my two teamamtes are still on the previous floor and didn't reappear until a cinematic. I've also had times where an enemy soldier just stood in front of me doing nothing. So I think a patch for the AI would be good.

The customization is a bit lacking in multiplayer. It does a decent job, but I agree that there should be more options. They should also let class and vehicle be separate choices, just have vehicle stats. For example, jets are fast and maneuverable, but have little health, while tanks are slow and clunky, but have alot of health.

I'd also love to see some DLC. Maybe a G1 pack and if they can swing it with the copyright a ROTF pack. And of course some classic maps like the Ark, The nemesis, etc..

Overall its a great game. Now if you excuse me I need to find the rest of those smashable insignias..

In multi player death match (the first two games), can you choose sides after choose the class? So far I'm always being a deception.

Even though I just finished chapter VI on the Autobots campagin (first campaign I started with), and I am really liking this! I enjoyed the Gears of War games, but this one is a lot more fun; partially because it's Transformers. :BOT:

The graphics are phenomenal and having roads construct and buildings fall right in front of you really enhances your experience. The controls take a bit to get used to, but I still prefer the RoTF controls over the controls here as I feel those were more intuitive.

Nevertheless, I am having a blast with this game and find myself wanting to come back to it even after taking a 5 min. break!

I like this game. As I am playing it though, I am noticing little annoyances. The hardest thing is seeing what is going on around you. I would be trying to shoot someone and all of the sudden you are dead. You csnt even tell where the shot came from. Ammo is sometimes tough to come by in some areas. I haven't gotten too far in the campaign though, so maybe it gets better.

I also do not like that there is no local multiplayer. I can't even play the other "kill waves of bad guys" mode by myself. At least they let you do that in Gears of War.

I love the look of the game as well as the voices and the plot of the campaign. Those things are everything I hoped for so far. Great story!

I ,unfortunatly, bought the game for the Wii. Had I known it would not have multi-player option, being unable to unlock characters, make characters, or any of the other features I was looking forward too; I might not have bought it right away. . The game would be alright, if I would have known before hand that it would be the way it is. I guess the biggest disapponitment is I got I excited from the website and review, but there was no mention what so ever that the Wii's verson would be completely different. :BOOM:

Uh...yes, there is. We've known for some time that the Wii version would be nothing like the PC/Xbox/PS3 versions.

The thing I found really cool about the autobot campaign boss battle with soundwave is that they included three of his tapes which shows how much they care about the product. Now if only they can fix on-line so you can host a public match unstead of it being crap shoot as to weather or not you will host the game and play as an autobot unstead of a decepticon.

This game is a blast. I <3 the multiplayer. Too bad there aren't more people online at late hours!

Played part of the co-op campaign with friends earlier.. and I gotta say it's ridiculous and amazing. Being able to play through and hear the characters talking brings you right back to the cartoon days, especially with some of the dialogue that's so spot-on.

Also playing chicken against Cybertronian trains in the Decepticon campaign is hilarious. Me and my friends were crying from laughter when I tried to jump out of the way when it came barreling through the first time, I almost made it too LOL

I got this game for the PS3 on the 23rd when it came out. I played it a lot for the past three days getting through both campaigns so far. My problem, however, is that I experienced three times where the game FROZE. Literally everything froze and stopped and pressing any buttons or whatnot did nothing. Once when fighting the big boss at the end of the decepticon campaign, once when fighting the big boss at the end of the decepticon campaign, and once when using Silverbolt in Aerial Assault when trying to overload the reactor. I also experienced glitchyness in that same aerial level when I went to get a null ray and then transformed into jet mode and I could see the jet fine but everything else was all glitchy and the picture distorted. Has ANYONE else experienced problems with their game? I got a new ps3 250gb slim in February. I'm most displeased with this although I love the game!!

One thing I really didn't like: The song that played during the credits. It's a bit to "cheesy '80s hair metal" for me, which I know Transformers has a history of, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

One thing I wished they'd done with that is when you play as Soundwave in the campaign his sentry could have been laserbeak and then he could have had shockwave as the other ability and have rumble jump out and do the ground pound, imo that would have been awesome

But I agree, game is awesome. I've heard several quotes straight out of the '86 movie.

I love that song. Its my favorite TF related song. Even though I cant understand a word the guy is saying in the song.

Only just picked up the game today and had about an hour on it.

Gotta say so far I'm loving it, multiplayers taking some getting used to, but I found changing the controls to setting two so I didn't keep going into vehicle mode in combat helped.

Starscreams reason for joining the cons was a little bit of a letdown for me though, "hay guize, u cn use drk eneegon gudz, i join u yez?"

I'm curious about something... How close are the voices to the G1 cartoon? I've only ever seen the movie and a few episodes, but I was like 4 when I saw those episodes so I don't remember much. I know obviously Optimus is the same. Soundwave sounds alot like Welker, but that's not hard to do. I know Megatron sounds alot different (though I like his Semi BW Megs voice). Starscream sounds like Frieza from DBZ. But what about the others like Sideswipe, Ratchet, Breakdown, etc? Do they sound anything like the G1 cartoon?

While I know Soundwave's distinctive voice is great for the game, I got to say I had the most trouble understanding him at times. I wished I had subtitles when he spoke.

Okay, this review's going to be all over the place so bear with me.

First, the multiplayer is faster and more balanced and I love the online XP. But the customization(sp) is more restricted than I thought. And I MUST say that if there isn't any forthcoming DLC, then I'm a bit disappointed with the available cast... to the extent that most are characters we've played as before in the last two games. When I see Bludgeon, Grimlock, Ultra Magnus, or Waspinator [just to join a game and die] then I'll be impressed. =;

The campaigns are longer and harder than I anticipated, but this is not horrible. The aiming is easier and I like the 2 gun feature, but would prefer an easier melee aspect. True I'm being lazy and not switching my controller options, but the default is not as fluid [in my opinion] as ROTF. :-?

The voice work is good. Peter back as Prime and Corey Burton returned as Shockwave I think. Steve Blum as a narrator and Barricade was cool [Blum is Green Goblin from Spec Spidey and Wolverine from Nicktoon's X-Men cartoon.] Other voice actors I don't recognize. Starscream's is acceptable. :-B

Despite any negativity, I've been playing this every night. I love it. It's just not perfect. But other than sporks and Chicken McNuggets, what is? :KREMZEEK:

The only TFs that sound the same in the game and in G1 is Optimus, Soundwave, Frenzy, and Rumble. IDK about the arial bots, I never really paid attention to their voices. And Thundercracker's is pretty close.

Here's a something to look out for guys and girls. Take a look at the concept art galleries and in the autobot/decepticon troops section you will find pictures of Onslaught, possibly another Stunticon, and an unknown blue and gold Autobot tank. I have a feeling these will all be DLC in the future since the concept art also includes Jazz and Shockwave. Please feel free to comment if anyone hears about this in the future, as well as any insight on that Autobot tank.....he looks beastly!!!!

lol yeah, hahaha

Speaking of multiplayer, have you guys been having trouble joining games? I play on PS3 and a number of my friends have been reporting trouble with either taking party invites or joining random games period.

Unfortunately High Moon Studios doesn't even have an email to give feedback to them through. I've found a Twitter and a Facebook but that's about it. -__-

I have that problem. And boy is it annoying. Doing great in a match, BAM "You've lost connection to the host."

Something else I've noticed that isn't a problem with the game itself, I've seen plenty of people playing as Shockwave (Myself included!) but I don't think I've ever run into anyone playing as Jazz or Demolishor.

Hullo, first time poster here, but my opinion of War for Cybertron on PC goes thusly:

It's oresome. But I feel bad for it. The only commercial I've seen for it was for the gamestop code junk (granted, the commercial was awesome too). Why I feel bad for it, is that I have a feeling it'll be the summer underdog, like Battlefield: Bad Company was 2 years ago. Loved that game, love this game; Guarentee not enough people know about it. At most, I've only seen 700 people playing the game on PC. Yes, I got it on PC. =P

Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the story, am currently enjoying the multiplayer, enjoyed the Escalation mode, and am eager to play SP Co-op. I have no idea why, but all the reviewers said that the visuals are bland and the world doesn't look good... But I must disagree, because High Moon made a pretty convincing living mechanical world. Even when your character doesn't move, everything around him does. I mean, the walls shift and move, your weapons and gizmos move a bit, as well as your own body parts. I thought that was a touch of awesome on top of an awesome cake. The gameplay itself is solid and there was nothing wrong. Literally, this game is practically perfect, in my eyes. And even if there were problems, I enjoyed the game to much to notice... Except one...

Now, that problem is this: Getting to the multiplayer is a pain and while in multiplayer there is no communication... Come on, this ain't the Wii! As soon as I finish this post, I'm going to try to find a way to complain to High Moon about that... There's no voice chat, not even text chat for Primus Sake! I mean, how can I play coop or escalation without being able to coordinate with my TEAM! UGH! If they fix that, I'm not going to put this game down... ever. But Because of the problem i just described, it's sometimes frustrating.

Obviously, I did notice that it has a severe case of Modern Warfare 2 syndrome where there are no servers, and sometimes the matchmaking throws my poor little Scout lvl 6 butt in with level 25 Leaders... But I can forgive that... But I can't forgive the no communication.

Speaking of PC, actually, fun fact for those who don't know... if you get Steam (I'm certain you guys know what steam is, http://www.steampowered.com, it's free), you can get WFC for just 40 bucks (USD). And when you do that, you can create private chatrooms and invite your friends in there and start a Voice chat room, XBL style... But I don't have any steam friends that have the game, nor do I think it should be necessary to go through such a hassle just for communications...

All in all, love the game except for the non-communication.

I am starting to think there is no host machine transfer. Host decides to leave the whole game goes dark. With no central servers every game has to be hosted by a private unit.
