Angry Birds Transformers Vince DiCola Soundtrack on Spotify

The official Transformers Facebook page have shared a Spotify playlist which features the original soundtrack for the Angry Birds crossover game - composed by none other than Transformers veteran Vince diCola, as we first heard in the Sunbow-tastic trailer! Check it out by following this link, and find out more below.

Rovio’s latest game, Angry Birds Transformers, boasts one killer soundtrack. You may notice that the tunes in the game sound similar to those from Transformers: The Movie. That’s no coincidence! Rovio teamed up with Vince DiCola, who composed the music from the 1986 animated feature, and music industry vet Kenny Meriedeth, who infused the tracks with the tasty analog synth sounds that defined the '80s! Give it a listen for yourself!

Angry Birds Transformers Character Clip - Corporal Pig as Galvatron

Another week, another Angry Birds Transformers video from Rovio Mobile - this time featuring Corporal Pig in their best Galvatron suit. Read more about it below, and check out the embedded clip!

Galvatron is as smart and strong as any of the Deceptihogs, and he knows it! His devil may care attitude and disregard for authority makes him the outlaw of the bunch. He’s also a deadeye with his laser arm cannon. Nice shootin’ Tex! One day he may even be ...The King (Pig)…?

Rovio Angry Birds Transformers - Now Available on iOS Devices

PostPosted: Thu Oct 16, 2014 12:17 pm
by Va'al
Courtesy of Seibertron.com resident voice actor jON3.0, we get a quick look at the now available Rovio Angry Birds Transformers, with screenshots from and a brief thought about the game. If you have a mobile device running on Android, you will have to wait until the 30th of this month to join in the fun, but you can still watch the trailer, the gameplay and listen to the soundtrack in the meantime!

Angry Birds Transformers is a 2D/3D animated sidescroller. The opening animation is so G1 it's nostalgic. The levels consist of running along while blasting laser at targets to destroy enemies. It's just not the challenge and strategy the original game was. It's cute and kids will love it but hardcore fans will quickly be bored with it although since it's free it's worth downloading just for the intro.
Autobirds, roll out!

If there were a PC verson, I'd be interested, but I don't have a smartphone.

It's kinda funny that the alt modes are headmaster-esque.

Still pissed that an OS that has roughly 50% (or even more) of the phone/tablet market has to wait two damn weeks.

Apple has to buy up two week exclusives like this so people have a reason to want their new crappy bendable phones with broken operating systems.

If they make a toy out of that Arcee, then I'll never bash on Angry Birds again.

Played this last night and enjoyed it. I had been expecting the usual Angry Birds with a different skin.

Loved the 80s style intro and the poor VHS tracking effect you get when you take damage.

Yes, you are correct that Apple's business model does indeed revolve around securing 2 week exclusives for specific apps. That's exactly why over 4 million units sold on launch weekend. I even found myself saying, "Man, I'd get a different phone, but I've gotta have early access to Angry Birds Transformers"...

Seriously... what a ridiculous thing to say. Nevermind the rest of your comment which was equally indicative of your lack of knowledge on the subject. (or perhaps it was actually meant as a joke!)

As for the game: It's fun, but after spending a few hours with it (not all at once) I find there to be way too many stopping points. After completing all of the levels you have access to, the "egg bots" are transforming those areas into places you can again play a level on. The time it takes for them to become playable levels varies from a few minutes to a few hours. After playing the game for 10 minutes it's easy to find yourself unable to to anything. That is the biggest problem with this game, it stops you from playing it which is what you're supposed to WANT to do. Other than that I can see the formula of the levels getting a bit stale over time, but it remains to be seen how much variation there is. It would be nice if you could choose which transformer to play for a particular level, but you can't. I find during some levels wishing I had Lockdown's weapons or Heatwave's abilities, etc. It looks like you can't base your strategy for a particular level towards any transformer's strengths... which is disappointing. You can choose your teammate (from two seemingly random players) but the impact during the level is fairly minimal (5-10 seconds at a time).

I find the premise interesting and somewhat confusing... Why is Optimus on Astrotrain? Why are the DeceptiHogs and AutoBirds working together? I did enjoy the interaction after levels when you have a DeceptiHog and AutoBird teaming up. If you try to thank the teammate and their not from the same faction you get snubbed. Grimlock shows some unique responses as well. Perhaps as I get deeper into the game some small story bits will explain a few things, but I'm not hanging on it. It doesn't really matter.

Anyway, that's my two cents on the game. Hope someone found it helpful!

The others are super-deformed and don't look like they're from a specific continuity (also, y'know, birds), and yet Arcee is just the G1 character model with a bigger head. Weird.

I don't know for certain whether there's a deal between Rovio and Apple, however I wouldn't be surprised.

It's not uncommon for stuff to be released for iOS first, and then Android down the track. In some instances it's understandable, difference in coding and such.

However in this particular case, the game has been in development for a fair whole, Rovio is one of the largest game makers ... there's no reason why there couldn't have a side by side release across Android and iOS.

It's not like Android is a bad OS, sure it has its faults, as does iOS, but head to head there's just as many devices running iOS as there is Android and there's just as many Apps in their respective stores.

So to the conspiracy theorist in me, a deal between Rovio and Apple for an App between two of the largest toy and game franchises in the world, wouldn't be surprising.

I don't care if this game sucks in the end (Android user so also unable to play yet) - going through the soundtrack on Spotify and holy hell, it's great. Shorter than expected, but whatever. 15 new minutes of DiCola goodness? Yes, yes please.

Well, it's obvious what continuity the Heatwave one is from, at least.

The Jenga add on gives you something to do during all those long waits. You can build up your coins allowing you to upgrade quicker.

I think they expect you to keep buying crystals to skip all the long waits. Im not going to do that.

It eats resources like a hog, but it looks really, really nice. It's a lot more fun and challenging than I'd imagined. Their in app pricing, though...wow.
