OK, so all year ive found out that fighters are my favorite type of video game. I like how technical and competitive they are. That said, compared to most online veterans, I'm not great at all. Just somewhat good, depending on my matchup. So I was wondering, anybody else here play? Ide love to fight some of you.
I'm on ps3, I play Street Fighter 4, mk9, injustice, and soul calibur 5, though I suck at It.
My psn the same if you wanna fight me.

You should try Revolution if you can, it really has improved alot, and now there are even combos between characters :)

I know, one of my cousins friends brought it over and served me my own ass using madara. Ide get into it more, but I eventually want to get into the anime again. And I don't want the game spoiling anything.

Have you tried the blazblue games at all? They can be competitive and amazing games to look at. Same can be said for persona 4 arena series as well. Next fighting game for me is dragonball: Xenoverse in feb

Xenoverse looks 50/50. Too much like battlevof Z. Game was aweful.
The tenkaichi games were the best.

I played a bit of blazblue once. Its really complicated, but fun. Like, I also have mvc2 but can't wrap my head around it fully, but I like it.

Havnt played persona.
I need a training buddy on mvc2.

I didn't realise that mvc 2 was on psn! See I've been getting a bit of a tenchaki vibe from Xenoverse but I'm hoping a demo hits in the new year.

Yeah its on psn, but hardly anyone plays.
See, raging blast is a lot like tenkaichi, that's why I like it. Its got tight consise 3D gameplay. Xenoverse looks like a lot of fun. But it also looks really floaty. I don't like the floaty...maybe its not as floaty as it looks, idk. Definitely giving it a try though.

I would love to get into raging blast 2 again. Though the single player mode was lacking a lot.

The mvc you play, is it origins with the HD marvel super heroes? If so, how good is it actually?

You can see gameplay of it from people like Maximillion Dood, he's good at it. Idk if its HD or a port or what, but its awesomely animated in any case, really tight controls, etc.

Oh fun! A fighting game thread. I'm pretty terrible at most of them, but I am enjoying Soul Calibur 5 right now.

Counterpunch and I played some SSFIV a while back, but I think he swore it off.

I've also got UMvC3, which I'm REALLY bad at, mvc2,mvc1 and super heroes 2 pack, and I think that's it.

And everytime one of us wants to fight, the others busy
Who do you use? I also have mvc2 BTW.
In MVC I use Charlie, Felicia, Akuma, and that tentacle guy, forgot his name...

In scv I use devil jin, patrollilokol..... However its spelt. I also try to use algol. Emphasis on try.

Do you still have SSFIV? I'll whip t.hawk out on you if your game.

Yeah, stop having fun playing other games, dude! Lol, if you see Netflix or something like that runnin on my machine, it's probably my wife watching TV. I've been grinding Dark Spark trophies for the past week online, which is surprisingly fun, though the story mode is painful.

I hardly play MVC, but when I do it's usually Jin and venom, though I need to retract myself tr combo system. It's pretty much the same with mvc2, though I might throw in sentinel. Marvel Super Heroes, I think I main Captain America.

SC5 I main Mitsurugi and dabble with a few others like Cervantes. I used to play A LOT of Soul Calibur, so I can hold my own okay.

SSFIV - it's been so long I don't remember who I use.

So I picked up dudley in ssfIV and I'm relatively new to him, but I'm loving him. If you wanna play, I'm inexperienced ATM, I could use a training buddy

fighting games wooo!

in the past, streetfighter, killer instinct, DOA, smash brothers, ect.
currently just SF4 and smash bros.

my gaming has pretty much come to a halt these days, aside from social fighting games. and while i can usually wipe the floor with my friends, i feel im quite average. im most skilled at smash bros, but compared to the "internet folk" im probably in the bottom 6 million

Oh boy, Smash! There's a chance I might be getting Smash 3DS for my birthday. I've always been terrible at it, and I'm probably not going to get any better!

Believe me, there's a store near me that hosts weekly tournaments, and I stay far away from that scene. Smash is serious business when there's a large pot of money to be won. I'm better off buying Powerba tickets, because sheer luck is the only way is stand a chance.

I've been playing Soul Calibur 5 quite a bit, and Cerventes is quite awesome. Though iv'e learned that this game has the capacity to ruin friendships with people who don't into fighting games that well. I mean, if you jump at me, and I use my super, guess whats gonna happen? It isnt rocket science guys!

I wanna get MKX when it comes out, too. THAT looks good. And Street Fighter 5. I already know im playing charlie. Between that and Guilty Gear Xrd I feel like Playstation's got the fighting gamers under its belt nice and happy. Its too bad consoles cost so much money though. And you need a HD TV too nowadays, just one big pricetag...

As for smash, I cant get good at it, because I never have anyone to play with, and the game feels odd to me, alot like MVC2. Just something about it I cant wrap my brain around.

Ye aire kung fu...........gawd how the genre has evolved since then.

Soul Calibur for the DC and DOA2 really broke the mold in the late 1990s. With the power of the latest consoles, the make kicking butt look good! Not to mention the character's.......plot have really improved!

Ah, fighting games. Loved them as a teen, but never really trained for tournaments or even arcade challenges.

Played most of them starting from the early 16-bit days, but never really mastered any.

I have to say that the Soul Calibur series was my favorite franchise (booby physics aside). The weapons added a new element to the gameplay, and the story actually made some sense. Tekken 6 just got really stupid with Heihachi having a illegitimate blonde-haired, Swedish son--the old dude's a playa, who knew?

Enjoyed Guilty Gear for a while during the PS2 era, but the more recent versions were too complex and involved for a casual player like me.

As for Street Fighter, I refuse to pay extra for characters that are already in the disc, but held hostage by a greedy f**king company CEO.

As strange as it sounds, I never grew fond of the Mortal Kombat games. Despite really liking the first movie, I never grew fond of the characters while playing the games.

MK9 might change that for you, I quite liked it. But I always loved Mortal Kombat's beautiful in game worlds and weird characters, so IDK. Scorpion's backstory is particularly well portrayed in mk9, I remember it legitimately making me feel sad for him.

Hmm, y'know what you could do? Watch the web series. The live action one, it currently doesnt have a 3rd season, but the same people are working on a film that'll be in theaters.

Soul Calibur 5 ruined the story for me. Not just the new characters either, wich are their own can of worms, but certain things threw it off, like why does Ivy still look so young, does she even age? I feel like something in the story says no, but that doesnt feel right. Speaking of Ivy though, her dad, my main Cervantes, why doesn't he look all undead anymore? He looks normal now. Raphael looks normal too, but apparently he's still a vanpire? Nightmare's just a regular guy in armor now too? Seigfried without Soul Edge? And what about Asteroth? He's just inconsistent.

And the new guys? They have potential, but are held down by crappy character. Their fighing styles, at least the brand new ones, are interesting. I particularly like Z.W.E.I because he's got some Jojo **** going on and mad combo potential. But why the replacements? And Don Pierre as the only DLC? Come on now... You couldn't give us Zasalamel? Talim? Setsuka? Anyone? Anyone but Don Pierre, he's just stupid to me.

Jeeze, sorry for the rant...Soul Calibur's the one fighter iv'e always played.

As far as Street Fighter goes, idunno about locked on disc stuff, I just have Arcade Edition, and I quite enjoy it. I play Akuma, Dudley, and am trying to get into Evil Ryu now, and trying to really get into FADC comboing and stuff, wich is insanely hard for me...
