Everyone and their mother was saying "well obviously we're going to be getting Trypticon, Fort Max, Scorponok ect." What did we get after Metroplex? Nothing not even a redeco of the Metrotitan or Necrotitan.

Devastator is a one and done thing like metroplex was. Could we get Predaking or Abominus? It's totally possible, but it'd be a voyager and four deluxes or we'll get at least one more original Combiner after the fan built team or...they will be the last one. Who knows. It's great we're getting combiners to begin with. Makes me think the only reason were getting combiners is because every character but a couple from 84-87 have now been modernized.

As much of a fanboy I am, I also look at these from the other point of view. If you make the predacons or terrorcons, can you retool/redeco any of them? Probably not so you're going to make those molds and us them once, or fun pub will use them someday for whatever crap they can think of. Or, you can play it safe and use the more popular combiners that can be retooled and repainted over and over like three of the protectobots being retools of stunticons and aerialbots which make sense. It's close enough. I won't be surprised if we get the combat icons and swindle is Offroads mold, vortext is a deco of alpha bravo and this is extreme but brawl is rook and maybe a new blastoff. It works. I'm a huge fanboy but I'm just happy with what we get.

You're right, the animal-based combiners are too individually specific for retool purposes.

Sorry Seacons, your not up to bat.

It does seem to be a decent-looking torso, at least.

I don't know if animal combiners are completely off limits. It's not like they can't just repaint them, give them new names and call them Autobots. There are plenty of Autobots with animal themed names and it's not as if all of the CW figures are based on established stories. Repainting the Predacons and calling them Chainclaw (Razorclaw), Catilla (Rampage), Sky High (Dive Bomb), Groundbreaker (Headstrong), and Gunrunner (Tantrum) would be fine with me. Bonus points for all five being Pretender names. ;)

I... really like this! I'm as surprised as anyone.

It just looks like a super solid torso. Whether we get proper limbs for him in the form of Sweeps or, even better, a deluxe Nighstick is an open question, but I'm on board. :D

Closest you'll probably get is a while Armada Megatron. For some reason the design team at Hasbro really doesn't like Galvatron all that much. We've gotten great figures of most of the animated movie's new cast and they've almost all been great (let's see a proper Blurr), but Galvatron just keeps getting shafted. We're long overdue for a proper Galvi, but I'm not optimistic after this.

Is there exclusive stuff on the Android version?

I have this on an Ipad and my Optimus Prime and Megatron look different...

Superion, Arcee and Menasor appear but aren't in the game?

I don't think I want to fight that Menasor, it looks like a barbarian ready to stomp the crap out of something.

Is this game another pay-to-win? I've been avoiding it so far because that's how it looks to me.

Fighting for them three event Aerialbots! We got a brand new league and we're doing pretty well for a bunch of players who don't even pay a penny.

This game is 100% a free-to-play-but-pay-to-win game, and 100% NOT worth spending any money on.

Their event reward system is ridiculous also.

Transformers: Battle Tactics Event: Beast Wars

Greetings gamers! The Beast Wars have come to the shores of DeNa's Transformers: Battle Tactics. You can join the battle with Megatron and Waspinator with a chance to walk away with Optimus Primal and Cheetor if you're the victor. The mobile game has modeled the characters after their original 96' toys (with the dead giveaway being Waspinator's grey noggin). See what DeNa has to say about the event (running till Tuesday), and take a look at the pics below!

Today DeNA announced the first event featuring Beast Wars for TRANSFORMERS: BATTLE TACTICS, the turn-based tactical mobile game that lets players assemble teams of iconic AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS. Beast Wars Episode 1 runs from April 9 through April 14, when players can collect, fight alongside and take control of classic Maximals and Predacons like Waspinator, Cheetor and Megatron in his ferocious T-Rex Alt Mode!

What the--?! Those are the ORIGINAL toys!

Not the Generations, not the cartoon models, but the original 1996 pre-cartoon toy designs!

Why is Waspinator's face silver? Is it some reference I am not getting, or is there no reason behind it?

Always glad to see more Beast Wars.
But man, they went kinda crazy with the toy-accuracy.
