Just wait till you fight the boss thats attacks can lower your soul level, or when you gotta go through that place were it forces you to not be able to roll because your waiste deep in water and it throws tons of guys at you.
Or the bridge on the way to the tower knight, seriously, screw that game. Strategy is one thing, having to tie your balls in a knot and then skiing down mount fuji is something totally different.

I will admit that I died a good few times on the bridge on the way to the tower knight. But once I noticed there's distinct stopping points for where the dragons can hit you, It got much more simple. I could cross the bridge in my sleep now.

The major problem at the end of it was the 2 Blue eye Knights lying in wait at the end of the third section. They're easy when you deal with them on their own, but when you have to run through the fire straight up to the first with the 2 archers right in front of him, and the archers from on top of the gate, it's a little more difficult. The task is easier if you stop at the cart with the barrels, take out the archers one by one, and then take your time with the blue knights. The second one doesn't aggro on you if you don't get close enough to it.

I've not come across water sections or bosses with soulsucker yet though, so we'll see how that goes.

I play to have fun and getting frustrated isn't any fun for me. Especially these days with the trend of calling clunky unresponsive gameplay, and cheap unavoidable deaths challenging. If you can't make a good game don't play it off like it's supposed to be hardcore. I played Dark Souls for a couple of hours and hated it. I got the hang of it pretty quick, despite the total lack of any explanations about anything, but the combat was clunky and unresponsive and I kept getting attacked by stuff I couldn't see.

As far as fair hard games go I'd have to say the original Devil May Cry. I managed to beat it on Dante must die difficulty and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was hard as hell, but in a totally fair way. I got through it by getting better, not by trial and error.

Gryphon wasn't so bad, but Mundus was really hard. I was only able to beat him by using every item I had saved up from my last 3 playthroughs.

I agree with this completely. I didn't like playing Dark Souls because even moving (walking) is clunky. Man, if it feels weird or clunky to simply walk or move in a game, then that is a big problem for me. I also think it is a goofy trend to call BS games "challenging". Granted, this is just my opinion, and I understand if other people like it, but I think it is a waste of my limited time.

Agreed. I could never put my finger on why I hated the controls for Dark Souls, but there it is. The clunkyness of it is annoying. Every time you press a button, you have to wait a whole second before your character makes a move. The Witcher 3 is kind of the same way in that regard. That's pissed me off a fair number of times in that game. Especially when you hold the stick to run, then let go to stop, and Geralt keeps running.

I never try anything more than twice. If I can't do it on the second time, whatever the hell it is I'm trying to do simply doesn't deserve to get done. That's how I see it. Even with video games. There are plenty of games I haven't finished because I died more than once in a certain area. So, when I lose in a game due to its poopy controls, that pisses me off even more.

I'd have been shocked if you had said anything else. But no, you quit after two shots and blame the controls for your failures. That is 100% in-character for you.

Of course. I don't like to do anything more than once. Twice is pushing it.

Dragon Age: Inquisition all 10 of the High Dragons were hard to beat the Highland Ravanger is probably the hardest monster in the game and the Jaws of Hakkron DLC is really hard even with high-level characters (level 20 is the entry level) although it's final boss was nowhere as difficult as the Highland Ravanger was.

That is a strange philosophy on games... The more I die, the more I want to get something done (even if it does anger me). You would seriously forfeit an entire game due to dying twice?

I'm kinda in the same boat, but I usually give something more than 2 tries though. When I was younger I would keep playing even though I got frustrated, but as I've gotten older I've realized I could be spending my limited free time doing something I enjoy. Plus I've been playing video games for over 25 years, if I can't get within a few tries it usually means there's something wrong with the game. Bad controls, cheap unavoidable deaths, lack of direction or proper explanation, etc.

Sly Cooper was literally my favorite thing as a child. I was absolutely obsessed with it. Hell, my user name is a reflection of this. I would play it for days at a time, I'd go to school and talk about it with people I knew didn't give a ****. I'd draw pictures, come up with my own stories for a fourth game. I ate, slept, pissed, and breathed Sly Cooper. But guess what. I've never beaten the first game, and you want to know why? Because I died. It literally sat for about, I want to say, 7 years before the whole PS3 remaster came out a few years ago before I played it again. I got further than I got when I was a kid, and I actually made it to the very first part of the final level. I died. I haven't touched the game since.

My biggest challenge that doesn't include chrono or score:in the first MEGAMAN STARFORCE,beat the Gemini Spark SP 50 times without taking damage.(optimal folder allowed,2 favorised whistles from the trading machine and 1 gravity, the fire form is good only against the wood boss and Andromeda but the favorised auralife absorb their attacks).at the begining :you can go to left and do seed+favorised fox+seed X2,the fastest knockout, they always begin with a slash, double counter with wood hammer or lance+rain.
The only use for Harpnote and the fox.

I don't accept référence that can be trivialized, like the alien cave by the long range team in CODE NAME STEAM,two good ones are F ZERO GX and SHINOBI 3DS,i planed to write a speedrun guide for the second but it doesn't have a page, same for CNS and TF:BATTLEGROUNDS.

Not the hardest thing ever done, but what I am having problems with for years is doing a certain level in Mega Man in Dr. Wily's Revenge (the first Game Boy one) No-Damage:

Wily Castle, specifically Quick Man in the Boss Gauntlet. Avoiding him isn't much of a problem, it's when he fires his Quick Boomerangs randomly that messes me up. Most wikis assume he's the same as the NES one: NOPE! :BANG_HEAD:

I forgot to mention SUPER MONKEY BALL.
The snaking in FGX emulate the one from it(same programmer).

In KNACK 2,the biggest challenge would be a totally new file where you finish the whole game in the hardest difficulty, you can't replay levels for points or use co-op.I tried that only in the démo,the ennemies are very fast and unpredictable. It's kind of a spiritual sequel for S.3DS.

CUPHEAD is often référenced, for me,i have MEGAMAN ZX ADVENT,i care only about the boss,a mode allow you to fight them rapidly in the hardest difficulty,no chronoforce-ZX.People who change form with the button instead of the tactile screen have no crédibility.Someone like Buckfire is more rapid and unpredictable than anything from CASTLEVANIA,fiou!
The gold medal of Rospark:the spike shot is better from a vine, escape with tentacle or form switch. You can beat her without dash, walljump against the triple beam is impressive.

The hardest game for me is "I Wanna Be the Boshy". It was created by the devil himself. On the easiest difficulty on one of the bosses (Megaman) I was stuck for 8 MONTHS! I've never swore so much in my life as I did during this hellish game. I don't recommend the game! But if you want to tickle your nerves, you're welcome :)

I have discovered that CN S.T.E.A.M has a Speedrun page since 9 May and posted a guide in the forum section. Many levels can be finished in one or two turns, really,to fight is only for scoring.

Imaginatif:"S.3DS is hard to find and play",as an alternativ,i would recommand INDIVISIBLE,the plateforming is a mix of it with the first SONIC BOOM 3DS,notably the multidirectional air rush. The final result is kind of original,"the fights look retarded":they are largely avoidable.

I've beaten Dark Souls games, I've beaten Monster Hunter games, I've beaten Mega Man games. I'd like to consider myself no stranger to difficulty...but I've NEVER been able to even get past the very first level of Ghosts 'N Goblins. That game just marries difficult and unfair into an unholy amalgam that just should not be.
